Hello everyone. I really want to create a standalone game. It's been something that I've wanted to do all my life. Does anyone know of any complete beginner tutorials? Just some super simple getting started tutorials? I'm willing to learn to make my goal a reality. Thanks for your time!

Well, my advice would be to build up skills and maybe your 2nd or 3rd project will be the big one
An easy thing to pick up (not sure if it is for a *complete* beginner, though...) might be Game Maker. http://www.gamemaker.nl/ I can't tell you anything about it really though, because I haven't used it since version 4. You might not create anything truly groundbreaking with it (it's 2D not 3D although people have hacked together Doom-ish 3D games with it), but I have seen some definitely cool stuff with it. You can go as complex as you want. You don't need to program, but you can if you want (and if you do it will be much better ). It has support for a range of things, including multiplayer. _________________ F. A. If you want to create a game out of the Quake1 engine, you should have lots of coding tutorials, models & other media, and forum help available to you. So, it's a viable option too.
