Yeah, its me again... Mr. Curious.
Was just looking through the frame macros of the monsters "oldone" and "knight" and noticed that shake12 and attackb1 are defined twice in each macro and are also duplicated within the models as well.
I don't see anywhere, within the QC code, that uses shake12 or attackb1 more than once in any animation. Is it safe to remove one of the duplicates in the code and the model? And if so, was this a mistake on ID's part?
As usual... just curious! _________________ Good God! You shot my leg off! |

Probably a mistake by Id, yes.
Note that if you remove them, you need to remove them from both model and code, otherwise animations will look very strange.
If you do remove them from both, pretty much nothing will change. If you want to see a change happening, find the functions that use those frames and only have the previously duplicated frame happen once. That will make the knight slightly faster in that animation. It will also make both animations look slightly less jittery. _________________ <ekiM> Son, you're writing data structures your CPU can't cache. |
