I built a map with Radiant 1.5, in Quake 1 mode, in hopes of compiling it in the original quake but every time I try to build I get "hqbsp" not found. Any ideas where I could get it? I've googled it but no go. Any ideas?

Hey cool but how do I install it? I put the hqbsp directory right where it needs to be and radiant is still saying its missing.

at a glance, the hqbsp directory is just the source, go into bin and put the hqbsp exe found in there in the right spot

Hmmm... Now after I click the build button I get a short dos shell then:

"The connection timed out, assuming the build proccess failed.
Make sure you are using a networked version of Q3map?
Otherwise you need to disable BSP Monitoring in prefs"

If I disable BSP monitoring then a dos shell pops up during build with what looks like an error message but closes to fast for me to read it... What gives?

Are there any other editors for Quake 1?

I'll link others to this thread, hopefully someone more knowledgeable in Radiant has an idea.

As far as other editors go, there is BSP, Worldcraft...

They've got tutorials there, if you can't get Radiant cooperating, thats another option.

I'd say BSP and WC would be his best bet if Radiant doesn't cooperate, just because tutorials can be found. Though there is the trick of certain versions of WC, whereas BSP is still being updated...

Yes I know this is for GtkRadiant 1.4

You should get radiant 1.4 as it's a lot better in many aspects, it's more work to get setup, but at least it works.

So someone on another forum gave me the hqbsp I was missing. Now the issue is when I compile my map is texture less. I've been using Wally's texture tool to make textures and the .wad file that quake 1 apparently needs. I can paint the textures on my brushes in radiant but all I have is the error texture when I load the map. I read somewhere that its sapose to "bake" the textures from the .wad file into the compile .bsp itself. Doesnt seem to work though. Any ideas?
