Sounds like the server itself isn't wanting to send the skins, but I don't know much so I could be wrong there. Just doesn't sound like a qc issue in that case.
You mentioned FuhQuake doesn't show them, but normal QW does... How about FTEQW? I don't know much about Fuh, but I use FTE when I play QW. |

Never tried it, you're talking about Darkplaces right?
Is that a client for QW? _________________ Welcome to the Overlook Hotel 69.113.123.178:27500 |

redrum: it's actually an NQ engine, but got QW support added later on. It's generally the modders engine of choice, because of the extensive modding features. FTEQW is also a very good modding engine. We were shocked because scar3crow is a big DP fan (like most people on this forum, including myself). _________________ Look out for Twigboy |

Question: I noticed that the code for entering the skin files only deals with letters, what about numerals? _________________ Welcome to the Overlook Hotel 69.113.123.178:27500 |

If you have an opengl32.dll in your quake dir and you're not using a 3dfx, delete it. If you are using a 3dfx card, then it's probably time to upgrade. |

Still having trouble with DP. How do you turn RT world off.
I don't see any options for it. _________________ Welcome to the Overlook Hotel 69.113.123.178:27500 |

redrum; look in the Lighting options within Options, or in console type r_shadow_realtime_world 0 thats from memory so I may be slightly off.
I use FTE for QW, and when I say QW, I mean TeamFortress, and by TeamFortress I mean MegaTeamFortress and by MegaTeamFortress I mean playing coop with skid on his server, fighting monsters while playing as TF classes, because the remaining TF servers seem to be populated by assholes who resent returning players for having a memory or not being up on the latest bunnyhopping and prefer to play for fun and with tactics and teamplay in mind.
No, I'm not bitter, why do you ask?
To be honest, if it doesn't involve custom skins, I do just go with DP, whether the server is QW, NQ or DP protocol... Who cares? Its still Quake. With that line of thought, people who don't switch to something that works well between all of them is furthering the divide (which should have died the moment broadband became widely available and the source was released as well). The only difference, thats real to me, is ease of bunnyhopping in QW and NQ. And if your Quake playing is so reliant on that, then you suck at the game. Same thing goes if you only play on dm3 or dm6 or whatnot. There, I said it, I get tired of that shit.
P.S. QuakeCon was not created to exclude Quake fans, we just never show up so they play Q2/3/4 because their fans show up.
Sorry redrum, that was a bit off topic. |
