I got inspired to make a revolver from this thread: http://forums.inside3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=1363
Not done revolvers before... It will be some railgun pistol. I think it could have an optional scope too.

I'm thinking of having this kind of attack for some weapons.. The weapon can fire really fast, but you have to tap the attack button for every shot. This way if you wanted to fire only one shot, you only fire one shot, but you can still fire really fast if you needed.
Here's an update:

Great work, are you going to work on the smoothing issues
Cant wait to see what this looks like with a texture. _________________ Working on Solitude |

Smoothing issues might stay... I just used one smoothing group per colour group.
Here's some texture work on it:
Then I decided I should finally make an alien script/font, before going any further. Just using A E I U Y in it. Font made with DoubleType:
Now I think I go sleep... _________________ zbang! |

Now all letters and numbers complete. Some other symbols done too, basic punctuation and mathematical symbols...
If someone wants the font: Get it here - note that it don't work well or at all in Word. I don't know why, but it works just fine in Paint Shop Pro, so I'm happy. Oh and you have to use CAPITAL letters, I didn't do any small ones yet... maybe I'll just duplicate these into the small ones as well.

Well.. I think it's finished now.
A table containing all characters and letters I made, all quite easily accessed from a keyboard:
Code: |
§ ½ ! " @ # £ ¤ $ € % &
{ ( [ ) ] } = / \ ? + -
´ ` ¨ ^ ~ ' * _
. : , ; < > | µ
A a O o E e I i B b P p M m
U u Y y D d T t N n
Ä ä Ö ö Ë ë Ï ï V v W w
Å å C c S s X x Z z
1 2 3 4 5 G g J j K k Q q
6 7 8 9 0 F f H h
L l R r
Ñ ñ
|
Here's them in "action". The story is in english, just written with these. If you're bored, you can try to decipher it
Download the font: Trieye Script
Note: it fails to work in Word. I don't know why, but it only displays the Arial font. If someone knows a reason for that, I'll be happy to know it. _________________ zbang! |

Hehe, I haven't learned the symbols very well either... Glad you like it
So I finish the gun... Ghartyr Naga Iranon 16_80_mx or G_N_Iranon 16_80_mx for short. That translates into Rail Gun Revolver 16_80_mm. The weapons are manufactured in the Naga Xetra factory. It shoots 16mm*80mm projectiles, which come in two different types: solid metal and fire explosive. It has a self recharging power capacitor. The two displays on the sides of the weapon measure the power and heat levels; turquise for power, orange for heat. It's got two firing modes, full power shots and suppressed shots. Suppressed shots don't generate so loud noise, but the projectile will have decreased velocity. The scope addon has 1-8x zoom levels.

Just a thought, when you decide to create an alien font then use english sized words and sentences it sort of ruins the effect, because its obvious that its normal text using different symbols. So maybe try using no spaces, writing vertically or in pattern shaped blocks, anything to make it look different. |

I can agree with that. You can keep the english language, just twist things a bit, like insisting on writing in spiral patterns or something. Vikings almost always wrote inside the shape of a snake, in a swirly funky manner. _________________ Look out for Twigboy |
