Ugh. Look what they did to the poor death knight.

And the scrag. It looks like something outta Quake4. And the ogres! God no! And then there's the fiend, that looks more like it belongs in Doom3 than quake. And don't even get me started on the shambler, vore, and spawn.

Both hands down, looks nothing like quake.

Call me oldfashioned but I like my quake in orthodox flavours.

I've gotta say, I feel the same - the new takes on the monsters don't do much for me. As the good doctor said, they look too much like they belong in Doom 3/Quake 4.

Although, all things considered, it's good to see that they're making progress.

as long as they use ALL new content, id Software won't care.

they're pretty ok with things like that.
