I love playing Kleshik but I have a bug that locks up the whole
damn game.

As you might know if you've played it, Kleshik has all sorts of random little "sequences" like red fog, or visions of gibs or earthquakes. Well one of them (I'm assuming) does something but it locks up the screen or REALLY SLOWS IT DOWN. The screen turns into ribs of blackness with the game-play in between the cracks, and I have to terminate it in order to get back into Windows. There's no other way around it, it seems. And yes, I've installed the upgrade.

Any advice?

I've pinpointed when it happens. It's the sequence that starts with a baby/child cry. Suggestions?

Thanks for the bug report.

As I've noted to scar3crow, I haven't played my mod with DP since 8/30/2008, and lots of patches have been committed to the engine since then that may have broken things in my mod.

In this case, I do not think it has anything to do with the latest DP engine, rather with your video card's handling of the stipple effect I use.

To test this, open up kleshik (or normal Quake), bring down the console and type this in : scr_stipple 3

This will cause the stipple effect that I use. If you find Quake freezing / locking up / performing odd behavior, we know it has something to do with that effect.

In the event that you do confirm this, I'll notify the appropriate active DP developers about the bug, but I will need your OS, your video card and what drivers you are using. Fear not, in addition to this, I will make a patch that adds a client CVar to disable the stipple.

Hopefully it is just scr_stipple . Please reports your findings back to me, and I we shall see if we can correct this.

Thanks very much for trying my mod,
Dresk
