oooo now i understand my quake.cmdline has the line "-game Hellsmash"

i was confused how about what you meant it is loading up as a mod on my psp i have just moved everything to the hellsmash folder if i didnt own quake and use them files it wouldnt load

also this mod will crash on a psp 1000 because it only has 32mb of ram haha sorry for the old psp users this is a slim psp quake mod only

I don't have a PSP Slim. I only have two fats.


ok downsider i have 2 phats also i didnt scale the weapon skins down yet and test but i will today and let you know what happens
i just tested last night on the phat it does load a map and all but when you go to menu it freezes psp imma try to fix this issue by making the weapon skins smaller and keep the quality at the same time Very Happy

EDIT: i have scaled the skins down with no loss of quality and now i can play flawless on the psp 1000(32mb ram) with bots on adhoc against a slim psp 3000 and another psp 1000(yes i have 4 psp's)so downsider you can play this now. i reduced the skins on the weapon to 128x128 and the really big skins vary from 256x128 or 256x256 , anyway all is well now Downsider did Dr.Shadowborg Send the files you need and what size do you need ?

I already sent downsider some icon material, so give him some time.

Projected Release Timeline:

1. Leileilol finishes character model. Beta 3 "B" patch release. This is expected sometime in the not too distant future.

2. Sometime after Beta 3 "B" release, (as soon as I can make a couple of new maps as supplement to existant maps, the quakec changes would be relatively quick) Beta 4 Experimental (this version makes a few gameplay changes) will be released. (for testing purposes, a Beta 3 "C" upgrade will be released alongside this so that people can decide which version they like better.) New maps are currently either in progress, or in the early stages of layout planning.

3. Beta 5 / 1.0 final release that follows would probably follow the version path that proved more popular. (Popular meaning both public opinion and my own personal preference. Alternately if both were well liked, I might consider releasing two different flavors, Original and Spicy 4 as with the projected Beta 4 and Beta 3 "C")

This is of course, all dependant on how much free time I have to actually work on Hellsmash, and whether things like GoldQuake csqc become available.

(well, not exactly, if it comes out at that point in time, the only delay would come from me trying to figure out how csqc worked and actually using it. If not, then I would just proceed as if csqc never existed, release an "all engines compatible" version and do a follow up csqc dedicated version. Heck, I might even just do that anyway...)

Come to think of it, nothing stopping me from doing some work on Beta 4X since I'm forking anyway...

i cant get enough of this freaking hellsmash all my maps are waypointed i have and these bots are serious about this i cant wait for the beta update me and my lady play hellsmash on adhoc ooo by the way how do i adjust the auto aim for this girl??? Laughing she can only aim wit the plasma gun and whatever else has explosions(had to slow down the Sv_speed for her haha)

Downsider: do you want me to upload the build i have for you with no maps and you can play around with it on the Psp 1000. I can send you a link via Pm (60mb i believe or smaller)

Also when you make the engine will it be able to support the extra ram in the slim???? that would be awesome... thanx again Shadowborg for this mod .. i Love playing it

Glad you're both having fun. Smile

Autoaim was permanently disabled via QC. (this was before I found out about the existance sv_autoaim, very much fail I know...)

I dunno if I wanna change it back though. I used to love autoaim. Now, I hate autoaim with a passion.

60MB?! ...O_o...o_O...O_o...What have you been doing to it...? The basic PC version is only around 27-28mb with the two maps unzipped...and with the model skins scaled down, etc. it *should* be smaller than that...

to be honest i gotta look at the size again i dont think its that big and maybe its the id1 models that change the size i have no idea its something extra in my folders i have to look and see

i remember them days downsider Good Luck with that We not trying to Rush You or anything I was Just wondering whats Up...

Dr. What is the Concept Of the Mapping For this Game. What i mean is What type of maps Fit this Game (quake style, futuristic, Army base, blah blah,) i got my buddy To map for me He can Map Well and Optimize for the Psp... so let me Know thanx. I will Have him come to the forum and Post here
