The topic is acceptable, Pikachu is officially safe for now.

Wazat, you can keep the 'Pika as insurance for the next time Urre suggests something daft Smile

I'm convinced we should all drop Quake, and go make fullbright box maps filled with crates for Half-Life 2.

Actually, Quakesrc had a QC forum, even before it had a Quake2 DLL forum. FrikaC however requested that it would be taken down, as not to conflict with this forum.

As for the merger; it has been discusses many times, but (obviously) never implemented. I'm not sure whether it would be a good idea either.

ps. black text on a white background is actually easier to read than white on black (only slightly). Also, as I'm posting here anyway, is it possible that the scrollbar gets a color other than black, because using a black scrollbar on a black background is kind of hard.

We had a discussion about the scrollbar a while back, and I think we came to the conclusion that although it is harder to see, it's also cooler. It became a matter of style over logic.

there has never to my knowledge been a serious discussion about this between those responsable for running the sites in question.

personally im not against it. but i3d must remain, and i dont want it to just redirect the user to another site.

Putting the I3D content and forums over there is like putting all your eggs in one basket. An unstable one at that. I think the community deserves a little backup.

Plus I like the fact you can find mods from '97 that credit this site. It's part of Quake's history, so leave it be.

Yeah inside3d rocks, it's pretty much an ancient quake museum that users who stumble across find it's riches!

The fact that quakesrc seems to be down again is perhaps another reason not to merge.

Yea, I agree. Then again, I3D has problems with "error connecting to database" a lot, which sometimes lasts as much as a couple hours. But QuakeSRC has been down for a lot longer than that though...

I think keeping us separate would help with downtime.

Ya know, guys, there is a 'Prydon Gate' forum at QSG, which no one seems to use anymore - might I suggest using that again?
