Hello there.

I'm releasing a minimod, that you spawn in a huge hallway, and have a stopped player at your front.
You have to "kick" him as far as you can. The more far you kick the player, the more points you earn.
Try the mod and post here your records! =)
OBS: You can kick the player as many times you want. So, I've not yet implemented a turn system, that gives you N turns to kick, and gives you the final score (e.g. 1st kick 3000 pts, 2nd kick 7000 pts, and 3rd kick 2000 pts will result in a total of 12000 points).

So, post your single-kick records here.

I've got 7180 points.

Get it here: http://shub-hub.quaddicted.com/files/mods_multiplayer/KickThePlayer_01.zip

Have fun! Smile

Hehe, could turn kickass in both meanings of the expression! Wink
My highest for one kick was 3500, but then I must admit I often (particularly in the beginning) got 1's, I was possibly kicking from too close.
But yeah, it's fun, Orion! And I could also totally see it turn into a "kick arse olympics" mod, or, who knows, something like a deathmatch mode in which players would kick each other's arse and maybe make them feel in hazards or something...
I like the curve the player takes after the kick, really funny Smile
And yeah, it'd be nice to add a little something that adds points or some way to keep track of scores.

Thanks! Smile

But if you kick the player two times with 100 strength for example, his velocity won't be the same, they calculate your strength, your velocity (that's why it don't go forward when kicking too close or stopped), and adds random().

And yeah, it's not too hard to make a turn and adding score system, I was thinking about making a teamplay system.
Each team can have a maximum of 5 players, then each one will kick the player of the enemy team(s).

Here's an example:

Blue team - player 1 gets 2500 points.
Player 2 gets 4000.
Player 3 gets 1200.
Player 4 gets 6000.
And player 5 gets 3600 points.

So, 2500 + 4000 + 1200 + 6000 + 3600 = 17300 total team points.

And the strength is random between 0 and 100, I've tried to make it cycle through 0 and 100, but I couldn't, and I don't like it random! Sad
So, how do I do this?

Just tried it out. Pretty fun, though I have to say the replay value is rather short. If you added some more interesting elements like kicking him toward targets or between cones (moving?) or something, it might add to it. It's a good start anyway, and I'm happy to see more mods taking a creative leap out from the general FPS.

Monster: the map I've made has a bug, that I've noticed right now.
I've set gl_clear to 0 to remove that HOM effect. I've seen grey spaces, the two walls aren't high enough, and the player falls through it.

And the body "reaches orbit" when he fall down with a high velocity, and his head is thrown. That's why the file comes with a headless.mdl.

Get the fixed map here:

Yeah, Entar's idea sounds fun, something like kick-arse bowling haha Wink
You could add Gyro physics to the cones to make it more impressive Smile
