Wow, very nice! These insects look really creepy! Very Happy
And I like the way weapons shoot in slightly different frames when you go akimbo Smile

Love the music, where did you get/what did you make it with? Gun sound isn't bad either, though the particle effects could use a bit of work.

The music is some old track I made back at 2003... I made it with Reason.

Mmm.. I don't even know where it gets the texture for the particles... But I will find out someday... Smile

Today I just got the player character half animated, but enough animated to get into the first release/whatever I need to have ready on wednesday night/thursday.

Now I should go to sleep...

Procedurally generated if that's DP, but you can customise the particle system to use external textures with a text file, dpmod has some examples.
There are some pre defined behaviours like fire, smoke etc, but if you need real control it's probably better to code your own effects (not actually that hard!).

It's possible to make entirely new effects using effectinfo.txt in DP. Don't ask me how.

I did the effect with effectinfo.txt... I also made the effect back when I had a slow computer that wouldn't perform very well if I added more particles...

I got some small one level demo ready today, but not sure if I'll release it yet.. My teacher told the deadline for the school end work has been moved to 16th may.

I also made some dvd case cover, which I needed to do for school (this pic is not original resolution):

Found out, that I had done it in wrong print resolution, and it don't have enough contrast for a print... and it's missing some linecode things and numbers. And I just noticed it got a small white line in the front... It only gave me 2 from 0-5 rating... At least I graduated... HOORRRAY! Very Happy

if you're onyl warning about the violence you should warn about the frontal nudity too
this would be illegal in some countries like japan

Ah, I didn't think about that... also in my final plans for this project is clothing for them... and many games have nude monsters and many monsters are nude anyway. Though they may not have genitals, like these have.

The insect don't have genitals modelled or drawn. Probably because I've not studied insect genitals so much. Maybe I should. But I've thought of modelling a female or male version of the insect. Haven't decided which gender these are.

So my conclusion is.. humans are obsessed with sex/denying their sexuality at the same time. Maybe this becomes completely illegal everywhere, because it contains scenes of "animal" sex...

Well, anyway, good to know all this. I've thought of changing some text in it. I've been thinking that I should mention DarkPlaces in the requirements. Mmm... the only thing most final in it is the Title. The other stuff was just something I slapped together from screenshots of the game... The title could have some more of that half-lining in it...

OOHh! I noticed another error, the front side is completely missing the black border, looks like I had saved the file with the border layer off. Rolling Eyes

Here's a new weapon I'm working on

Here's it on a character & view models
note: I didn't adjust the view fingers to fit the weapon yet...

The weapon fires needles. One magazine fits 160 needles. The weapon probably fires 5 at one shot. The name Aqua Needle SMG doesn't mean it only function underwater, it will work above water too... I've also thought that this weapon will be more accurate if held by both hands, but it will work single handedly too.

I'm also thinking same kind of feature for other single handed weapons. Some two handed weapons could be used single handedly too, but then the character will have severe accuracy penalties. Other two handed weapons can't be used single handedly as they will be so heavy and big.

Doing some light armour suit:

It's not 100% complete yet... Currently it's got hidden polygons under the armour as well.. notice the green pixels in the knee in the lower right picture.

I think I will also do a skirt like in this drawing:

I think I will need a minigun too... Rolling Eyes
