I've always used notepad + frikqcc in the past, but that's because I'm too lazy to download something better. _________________ Forum lurker |

I've been using DOS QEdit Advanced v3.0 for all the years I've been modding. (Compilers have ranged from the original compiler, proqcc, Fastqcc, to finally FrikQcc) _________________ "Roboto suggests Plasma Bazooka." |

Oh yea, well I use a hex editor to modify my computer's ram to cause Windows to inadvertantly modify qc files on a networked drive to create the changes I need for my mod. Then Windows crashes and resets, and my system startup files automatically run FrikQCC to compile my code for testing.

Released a gui preview of the editor a few days ago... Still working on everything, but i have gotten syntax highlighting to work properly and re-designed some of the gui after loads of feedback.
You find the "preview" here (http://darksnow.quakedev.com/)
... and a "work-in-progress" screeny here (http://darksnow.no-ip.org/pe2k5.jpg)
Please be adviced that it is a early beta, and read the license agreement before download - thanks. |

Indeed Wordpad does suck, but I've gotten so used to it that I don't mind it anymore. |

I use editpad pro. Presently for similar reasons that RenegadeC uses WordPad.
For my next project I'm seriously considering using ProjectEditor, it's time to make a change I guess, but I'll start with me next one. _________________ my site |

That actually looks rather nice. Text highlighting is always helpful (I know I hate programming in Perl without it). The side-bar listing of QC files might also be very helpful. It will be like working on a project in MSVC++. _________________ When my computer inevitably explodes and kills me, my cat inherits everything I own.
