Hey guys , I am currently working on a total conversion mod for quake , solitude ( Right now we are change the name from Halo solitude to solitude so no worry's.

I have been trying to get some votes as there has not been a quake mod in the top 100 since 2003. So with your votes ( Register please as guest votes don't count unless there is a tie.) We could get the quake modding community a big boost in popularity since they will see that quake still has decent firepower.

About the game.

1) It is based in the halo universe ( Now don't start saying that its going to be terrible, we are trying to prove a point. Quake has still has a strong engine.)

2)We are trying to add an arey of things from simple things as throwing a grenade when you have weapon to adding vehicles support.

3) It Will be 100% open source.

Vote at http://www.moddb.com/mods/sami

Thanks.

I voted for your mod, because the potential for this seems big. The Quake engine still is strong, you just need to use it correctly. But, I think that gameplay will also dominate over shiny graphics, anyday.

Anyways, make sure you put the link to everything when you're done, I would like to try it out.

Hope fully this will start another wave of quality quake mods. Still cant get over the fact we made the list. We were pretty handicapped since our aim was for the PSP and were making it on Quake. People usually like graphics, which the psp does not have.

There's always one. If you implying about the fact its named halo, then rest assure, the name is changing....

They don't need to bother with a new palette, they need to bother in creativity (We have got our own story, characters, chain of events maps, etc.)

Changing the name doesn't change that fact that its a game clone and unoriginal.
However, grats on the top 100 list.

SpannA... no it cannot.

Thanks,

But i'd like to say that it is hardly a game clone , we are changing some game play features, adding our own story line that connects correctly into the halo universe. New characters, new locations and quite allot of things that makes our game different to the rest.

I'd say a mod like Black mesa is a clone since it has 100% same story, characters, conversations as the original Half life.

But never mind that, A quake mod made the list, thats what am proud about.

Originality is overrated.

Congratulations on your numerical achievement!
