Yeah, it's only a working title. It'll change at some point.
I've started working on a mod (first for years) for Quake which was inspired somewhat by Fiend Hunter, and a little bit from going through some old threads here. It's a coop mod that pits you against two hordes that are constantly growing stronger.
To aid you a regular supply of ammunition will be "beamed" down to you, slowly unlocking weapons as the game goes on. This gives you the option of hitting them while they're weak or waiting for more backup but letting their power grow.
As you play, the two sides can be in constant battle. I hope to balance it so that if you let them duke it out, you'll never know which side will win in the end.
I don't want to say too much for now, but I'll be documenting my progress on this dodgy looking but sufficient website. |

Sounds like it could be quite fun, are you planning on supporting this in every map, just certain maps, or releasing new maps with it?
Any plans for variances on the weapons or monsters or powerups?
The Wizard's Manse is one of the best names for a Quake site ever. |

And having now read the site, I see all my questions are already answered.
That sound could be very very creepy - particularly in certain maps (oh god, Februus Depths...)
If you want any help designing the new monster types, feel free to pm me on irc or drop me an email (scar3crow at yahoo), thats definitely my kind of thing.
Crap, now Im all excited. |
