Hi there, Ajay!
Interesting stuff! I can see what Romero means when he talks of repetitiveness, though...
That intro is... weird, to say the least. I'm divided between describing it as quite bad and well, bizarre and creepy
Jeez, those songs sound really old, now... _________________ http://www.planetcocot.net/ |

Alot of those sounded like Slayer songs. Especially un17. Sounded like a mix of south of heaven/dead skin mask, and one track off of Reign in Blood. good stuff. |

un18 is Silent Scream by Slayer. The intro of un28 sounds like Them Bones by Alice in Chains. un31 is a clip of a song from Road Rash, can't remember the band though. So is un32. I know for a fact that un48 is Behind the Crooked Cross by Slayer. No doubt about that one. Un52 is also for sure South of Heaven by Slayer. The drums are exactly the same. |

I wonder how they thought they would get away with un17, it's an exact translation of the first part of Raining Blood (which happens to be 'the' recognizable slayer song AFAIK). Only they slowed it down, and repeated everything twice, which makes it extremely boring to listen to...
Hehe, a lot of this stuff is really crappy, like the kind of 'tunes' you would find in a level 1 beginner guitar book There are no variations on a riff, no licks, no fills, no 'improvisations'... For example un08 sounds like an 11 year old trying to play something Megadeth-sounding
Though I understand as video game music it has to be slower paced and more repetitive.
edit: un51 is a rip of a Pantera song, Walk I think? _________________ F. A. Špork, an enlightened nobleman and a great patron of art, had a stately Baroque spa complex built on the banks of the River Labe. |

Yeah, alot of them in the current Doom game are rip-offs, ive recognized some Slayer songs and whatnot. It does go good with Doom though |

I recall with Doom, they wanted a metal soundtrack - Bobby Prince disagreed but compromised, and worked on the moodier stuff on the side, which were ultimately the songs that worked better.
I enjoy Seek and Destroy in either MegaMan2 or 3. Can't recall which boss level though... Maybe MagnetMan? |
