I've implemented a RSS 2.0 feed for these forums. You can view it here: http://forums.inside3d.com/rss.php. It fails the validator because I put the posters name in the <author> field with no email address preceeding it. I will fix this soon (somehow). I've also created a little test homepage at http://wiki.quakesrc.org/home/ that aggregates RSS from Blues News, Sourceforge, Spirit of 85's blog, the forums, Quake Wiki Recent Changes, Telejano Wiki Recent Changes, and Func_Messageboard. Check it out. |

This is cool. So it summarizes all the posts and news related to the community? _________________ When my computer inevitably explodes and kills me, my cat inherits everything I own. He may be the only one capable of continuing my work. |

Hey, that's pretty cool!
My opinions:
Maybe it would be a better idea to grab only the topics from i3d? Actually it is really hard to find your way through this mess of information=)
The moddb feed should be reduced to Quake only in my opinion.
Do you think it would be possible to grab the planetquake-headlines too?
The whole idea is fantastic! As you might have read in this thread I'm planning to launch a new Quake newssite (singleplayer!) in the near future. I guess it would be possible to implement rss-feeds too. (First try)
I will try to make this new site/portal as easy as community friendly as possible. So I think some feeds would be a nice feature? Maybe simply some remark like "last 3 posts in i3d forums at 12:30, 14:45 and 16:26" or the last 3-5 post's topics or something? Just not to overload! Same for the others you've implemented. _________________ Quake Maps |

I'm not so sure about just I3D forum posts, but it would be nice if there was a link at the top that took you down to the right spot, according to what link you chose (i.e. Blue's News, I3D forum posts)
