I posted about this idea a few weeks ago and didn't get many responses, so here goes!
Every week, I will post a thread in the Quake Events forum about a topic. This will tell everyone what they are changing/adding/replacing in Quake. A sort of mini-speedmod.
Everyone will have a week to complete and turn in mods. I will then post a Poll and Entries thread for everyone to decide what mini-mod gets put into the full mod.
At the end of this long stream of mini-speedmodding, the community TC will be released to the public (with correct credits of course).
Should libraries be automatically included in this for coders to use... gyro and mathlib...
Should this be a DP only or retail quake compatible mod...

Me is in. I won't care much for libs, but I guess it'd be nice for others. And you know I'll say DP only. _________________ Look out for Twigboy |

Dunno about gyro, mathlib yes.
And DP only would probably be counterproductive, so I say no. _________________ "Roboto suggests Plasma Bazooka." |

I think it's a cool idea You'll definitely need to have quite a few modders involved at first, though, because there are bound to be people who are going to give up along the way...
Personally, I unfortunately have too much work to be able to commit to such a weekly-based project , but I'll definitely try to give feedback on the various mini-mods whenever they come out.
Oh, and I think "retail quake compatible mod" is the way to go. Many of us here at I3D are DP fans, but I found some people can get a little upset when they don't have a choice of engine... _________________ http://www.planetcocot.net/ |
