I want to do some experiments with DarkPlaces and client-side QuakeC, particularly focused on modifying the HUD.

It is my understand that DarkPlaces has an implementation of CSQC. although Lardarse has told me there are a couple of outstanding issues with it and DarkPlaces.

I have read the Quake Wiki page on CSQC http://wiki.quakesrc.org/index.php/EXT_CSQC

From what it requires compiling a csprogs.dat that should be in the game directory or id1.

Is there a working example of a CSQC source somewhere that has been roadtested with FTEQW? And a csprogs.dat too hopefully?

Best bet it to ask TimeServ, I think.

It will work in DP as well, but IIRC from the commit logs, you need developer 100.

Alright, there were CSQC sources and progs right on TimeServ's home page @ QuakeDev. Cool!

TimeServ's page explaining use with FTEQW:

And I guess this is the resulting HUD result:

TimeServ's CSQC mod is according to his page very FTE dependent, so I'm not sure how useful it'll be for DarkPlaces. Perhaps as a good base. I've also been interested in CSQC development for a good while, but haven't got past the required svqc stuff for my mod yet, so I've been stalling it.

Say ... how does anyone know that CSQC works in DP unless someone tested some CSQC with DP that works with it? Razz

Baker: it works in theory Smile

But it's mostly untested (apart from when that belarus dude made his first implementation, the dude who made Betwix engine), and requires developer 100 in the console to even load. But in general the csqc supported by FTE is basicly the same as in DP, but not entirely, I think...
