Regarding the original subject, I'm about 1/3 the way done.
Current issues I'm working on:
1. Figuring out why crucified zombies that are made gibbable aren't calling killed() in any sort of normal manner O_o (once this is fixed, trigger_counter will work)
2. Recoding the misc_teleporttrain's code. Because the roaming spikeball is supposed to tumble dammit!
Once that's done, it's time to do actual work on shub herself...
/me wonders if he should release a standalone of this with default quake weapons in addition to the QSR version...
Edit: #1 fixed, #2 scrapped, proceeding to phase two now. (Shub attack coding, Monster spawning, and final item placement tweaks / additions) _________________ "Roboto suggests Plasma Bazooka." |

it would be cool to have Shub shoot three of those lavaballs that Chthon attacks with and use or modify the code for leading the player on skill >= 2
maybe reskin the lavaball and use a self.skin to make Shub's unique or something.
i also liked the lightning idea.. maybe using the same bolt from Chthon's lair

I say drop into the map a few spawnpoint entities of sorts, and whenever Shub feels like it, she can do her roaring bit, and a couple of shamblers/vores spawn in.
You could also instead of telefragging her directly, make her tougher than that, and require 3 passes or so successfully through the slipgate to kill her (each non-killing one would take you back to the beginning of the winding path).
She could also fire a projectile from her gut using the teleport_train model, which emits lightning periodically from it like the Q2 bfg and impacts with multiple explosions.
Or have her do her roaring bit, and just spawn in the general area 15 or so lava balls which come down from on high at a fairly quick velocity. |

If you're required to telefrag her 3 times, make a small animation where the Quake guy cuts through her from the inside out complete with disgusting squishy sound  |
