If I want to make any progress supporting what I want to do on the engine side of things, I need to walk through every part of the rendering and the file formats.
And if I document as I do this, I can solve a future problem that I anticipate.
I get so aggravated when high quality documentation cannot be found. So far I've found quality OpenGL documentation to be scattered and largely un-user-friendly, lacking of pictures or focusing nearly exclusively on the 3d/lighting aspects and not providing balance.
This OpenGL stuff is easy except for the initialization overhead -- which isn't really all that bad, but requires experience. |
