well, some bots are so cheaters, others are too noobs...
and i'm asking what one is the most cheater?

For me is the Frog, even at low skill, he is easier to kill but if he has the RL or LG, he's very hard to beat.

Reaper checks the enemy health to see if it should pursue the enemy or not? I remember it had some kind of enemy.health checking...

Yeah, the Reaper is cheater, too.

See the link and read the cheats that he does.
The site says "Reaper Bots Don't Cheat", but it's a false affirmation.

"digital breadcrumbs" ... I get the image but... pffpffpff (/me giggles)
...
"Welcome to Quest's FrikBot Digital Breadcrumbs Depo" ... now, that would have sounded cheezy... (mmm, bread and cheese...)

...

My QBA bots (Tutorbot-based) cheated like crazy (but then some of them also had implemented "weakness" (slow reactions, etc))... I don't know what this obsession with this "bots-shouldn't-cheat" thing is about, I mean, as long as they are fun opponents to you, who cares.
Note : That doesn't mean I'm against the idea of this thread, of course. This can in fact lead to interesting discussions.

At least for FrikBot, cheating is bad because the mod-pluginyness of it would be broken if it tried to cheat within the bot. To make it work with as many mods as possible, the focus was to make it play as much like a real player as humanly possible.

I mean, in a larger sense it does cheat in that it knows when all the items respawn and where all the players are on the level intrinsicly, but well....I blame the terrorists.

Something that I myself am very grateful for. It's also what makes it one of the best bots to have ever been made. ever. Very Happy

The first isn't cheating, really. At least, not in my book. And neither is the second. With the current frikbot, I will quite often have to hunt out bots that are hiding in sniping spots. (DM1 for example) I can even get the drop on them sometimes, which means they don't really use the player location intelligence to maximum advantage. (i.e. cheat)

Yeah the Frik is the best bot ever made...
But in maps without waypoints, they stand so much.. and that's unrealistic... a good example is in Rocket Arena, I've added them to RA, and in maps that have hills, boxes or etc, when both hide behind them, they just stand and I should kick all and re-add'em..
They should roam like my own... or make waypoints for RA maps.

When I have time I'll upload my bots's source code for QW.. cause QN is modded and have extra models...
