Ok, so I decided to do things by the book and start from scratch again.

Here is the new concept that I came up with. I know it may have a few mistakes in it, but I think it serves as a functional proof of concept.

All criticsm is welcome! Smile

If someone would just make a normal default model replacement that wasnt all fancy quake would be 1 step closer to a free download Sad

But by that time, everyone will migrate to source modding, or other modern engines anyways...

What kind of puny arms are those!

I should suggest the loomis references before taking on this sketch exactly in model form.

Perhaps I'll trim his hair in the final model.

@rook: Yes, that's what i started doing last week, but people werent all excited about it.

@Leilol: The arms look puuny because of his big boots.

Anyways, I'm probably gonna start modeling it now, and I'll make a few adjustments as needed along the way. Thnx for your support Smile.

Quake has become this test bed for work in progress, and just when the finale is about to surface, poof the author gets snatched up...

I'm going to finish this model.

I totally get the whole "Omfg, not another n00b WIP" attitude, because at times I adopt it as well. However, I'm feeling dedicated enough to finish this modelling project. From concept to in-game screenshots.

Btw, any of you ever read that very old Quake University modding guide? It says people like it when things just come out of the blue. I don’t really approve of that, coz then you cant get proper feedback on what you are doing, as any changes might require re-doing the whole model again. WIP has it's perks, and annoyances. More soon.

New WIP. Sorry for the slight delay, had my girlfriend over the past week Smile.

I've finished doing the UV mapping. I'm going to start making the diffuse, normal and specular maps now.
