I uploaded a bunch of converted models for the archive just now, but got this message for every file I sent(including readmes):

Quote:
glock.zip was uploaded successfully

Warning: move_uploaded_file(Incoming/glock.zip) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/qdev/qarchive.quakedev.com/upload.php on line 57

Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/tmp/phpAKQAWu' to 'Incoming/glock.zip' in /home/qdev/qarchive.quakedev.com/upload.php on line 57

So none of the files made it to the uploaded folder. Does that mean I have to resubmit them, or is it usual?

Really needs a search function, not just for finding stuff but because I don't want to end up uploading stuff that's already there. Yeah I know it could be a problem if too many ppl overload it, maybe require a forum account or something.

BTW there's a lot of good stuff scattered around here: http://www.3ddownloads.com/telefragged and it seems the type of old file repository that tends to vanish without warning.
I don't have time to sift through it now, but you can find custents 6.0 under 'wartrench'. Maybe someone with a fast connection should just download the lot.

...Doesn't look like it... I just tried uploading a few things... Text files go up with no problem for me, but zipped files do not... :-/ ..Not sure if it's just me this is happening too...

Got a successful upload just now. So I'm uploading some converted models from turbosquid's free section and from Psionic 3D. No animations, but everything should work in all quake 1 engines straight off. Half of them are weapons, and the other half are mapmodels/props. As they aren't made specifically for quake they'll all come with full colour skins. After that I'll look at uploading all the models that are on my long neglicted site and the ones I've made since then.

...That's weird... I tried a few more times before work with no luck... Then I refreshed the incoming dir to see a bunch of files uploaded at just that moment... So guess its just this computer... maybe its the firewall...?

Still uploading stuff, found an old model of a sherman tank, which has raised a question. I know somebody on this board had this model of this tank and wanted it skinmapped for use in quake. So they sent it to me, I did the job and gave it a rudimentary skin, but I can't remember who made the original mesh. If pushed I'd guess it was Tei, but I can't recall for certain. So if the person who made it would step up, I can credit them and upload it again. Meanwhile I might make a quick attempt at improving the skin somewhat, even just dirty it up with some rust/grime overlays.

I know that model.

I think yes, I made changes on the skin, but I have no idea of the model author. Lol.

Maybe I can search on my email, or something. Good luck!

Thanks for that.

Although generally I've had success with uploading things, two of my files just refuse to upload. There's no feedback message when a file doesn't upload, so I can't really furnish the problem with any more information. The text file to accompany them does go up, which is why playerpackextras.txt and crtnbrl.txt are both uploaded without the relevent zip files. Any suggestions?

Wait, I've noticed something, both of the rejected files are just above 2mb in size, and all the uploaded ones aren't. What's the actual limit for uploading something to the archives?

oh,that's probably beyond error's control - a php/apache setting of max upload size on the server as a whole.

Or they could be weird rare mimetypes. Like cheap's 'zipped mod sound' mimetype in QExpo.

maybe you can change that limits for the current script execution with set_ini or set_size or whatevery wacky name php use to change that setting.

What is the problem anyway? and where is the script?
the people debugging a php file need access to the log file.
