Feels like nature caused me to get cold and then some heat
Well.. despite I've been sick for some week, I made some pistol model that looks... more round than my other pistol model.. This one not yet 100% complete. The basic shape is done and looks like it could have changeable muzzles, or the other muzzle will be seen in some other weapon... here it is: http://koti.mbnet.fi/jeejeeje/wip/alien_epistol.jpg _________________ zbang! |

Mmhmhmm... I decided to improve my main character... So I had to start doing the changes from the less clothed version. I also decided to texture it... hmm.. maybe I'll include that one feature I had thought of earlier...
edit: some changes...

I've redone the head and texture for that character... texture resolution increased from 1024*512 to 1024*1024, eye texture to 128*64 and hair is 256*256... I hope they're next gen enough. I'll be doing some fine tuning to the textures sometime tomorrow.
Another go at the energy pistol...

You can never be "next gen" enough until you add normal and specular maps to your model, bump the textures to 4096 and add a shitload of bloom! :P
I don't know what kind of level of "next gen" are you trying to achieve but the model still looks blocky in the arms and legs. Maybe you plan to add normal maps later but I don't know. |

No point adding polies to a model that will be flying around the screen blowing you up. The only models that really need detail are NPCs in RPGs that stand there scratching their butt while you inspect their nostrils. _________________ F. A. Sajt: I wouldn't agree on that in all cases, it's cool even in fast-paced games, when there are the occasional pauses or whatever, to see the awesome detail. I loved how in Battlefield series of games, they had really detailed character animations, which you only ever saw if you were standing still together with someone, really added to the atmosphere.
jim: looks awesome! I wouldn't say you need to go all the way with normalmapping and whatever, it can look great without it, even if a bit retro, which isn't bad if you ask me. _________________ Look out for Twigboy |

It got some normal maps now, they're made with crazybump from the diffuse textures. I've thought there would be some less actionful parts in this, which would be some interaction with the other Noid characters... Or at least some non hostile characters you can go inspect what's inside their noses and jump around them and they just ignore you completely...
The ones on the right side of the picture are without normal or gloss maps and are in 100% self illumination
The images are links, because they were so big...
Maybe I'll draw a penis or vagina for them, so they can appear naked too
But now I'll go to sleep... _________________ zbang! |

I'm thinking maybe that would perhaps be just a little too much. _________________ F. A. Špork, an enlightened nobleman and a great patron of art, had a stately Baroque spa complex built on the banks of the River Labe. |

Besides, they're obviously hermaphrodites. _________________ F. A. Špork, an enlightened nobleman and a great patron of art, had a stately Baroque spa complex built on the banks of the River Labe. |

Did some shorts and sharpened the texture..
Yea, possible, they might be hermaphrodites. Maybe I need to draw hermaphrodite genitalia... _________________ zbang! |
