MeTcHsteekle:
Some of them were made by Preach or came from various free-to-use model q1 sites, while others I found in various mods. I only later found out that it's probably not a good idea to just take models from a mod even when you credit properly because some artists are really hostile about their work being used anywhere else. It's very different from the coder community (you give credit = use it for whatever you want).
edit: and some came from Q3 or Q2... Also highly taboo, according to the qmap/func_messageboard crowd. _________________ When my computer inevitably explodes and kills me, my cat inherits everything I own. He may be the only one capable of continuing my work. |

that's weird, considering they love to use q2/q3 textures in their maps. You don't have to listen to their 'authority', they also considered original modding effort 'taboo' too especially if it detracts from the Quake 'mythos' |

Yea. These are the same people who berated me for using Q3 models and models from other mods, and told me I should have instead used the open-source models (free for any kind of use stuff) found on X websites; but at the same time made fun of the quality of other models that I had gotten from those sites (and those were the best I could find).
There was just no winning with them. I suspect my greatest crime though was being a coder instead of an artist. They've always had that... "problem" with coders. _________________ When my computer inevitably explodes and kills me, my cat inherits everything I own. He may be the only one capable of continuing my work. |
