indicates the player start position, facing north.

1, 2, 3. The teleporters arranged around the Main Arena also lead to secrets. Step carefully around the frames and into the back of the teleporters. You will be transported to the chambers directly overhead.

4. The fourth chamber in this pattern has no teleporter below. It is accessed instead from the central tower in the North Arena. Initially the shaft is covered by a platform on which an Ogre Bombadier plays sentry. Killing this ogre signals the platform to descend and you must rocket jump up through one of the arches. Dropping into the starfluid at the bottom of the shaft teleports you to the fourth chamber in the Main Arena.

5. At the top of the North Arena the lava has encroched between some of the flagstones. Most of the apertures are too small to accomadate a Quake marine, but in the corner of each of the side rooms you will find a square pool of lava. Drop through either of these.

6. In the West Arena a book protrudes from the shelf in this location. Push the book into the shelf and the whole case opens to reveal an alcove beyond.
Rune Four is inside.

7. The cross beams in the skylight overhead hold a shootable switch. This activates the platform in the floor below which descends into a basement alcove. Be careful when the platform ascends once more - hellfog swirls underneath.

8. On the underside of the metal causeway, against the wall above the arch, a shootable switch is hidden by shadow. This causes the wall immediately behind the telepad to descend and a jump pad lies inside. Use this to land on top of the causeway. A small reading room is on either side and you can walk along to the end as well.

9. On your route out of the East Arena, turn to the wall opposite the teleporter and you'll see this cheerful chap. He's grinning because he knows something you don't. Step closer and peer down. Drop into the narrow slot and turn around.
