This feels like something out of a bad dream! You awake to find yourself hanging by your flight straps and looking back at the Earth instead of stars through the shattered viewplates of your cockpit. As you hang there, you begin to remember how you ended up in this nightmare...
...the loss of communication with the monitoring station on the moon, the decision to send SOMEONE back to make sure that Earth's curse hadn't spread off of the planet. Transmitted reports from the station had become increasingly grim. The mutants created by the last of Earth's wars had begun to rebuild the lethal technologies long since thought destroyed. Rumors of the typical roving bands had been replaced by what was sounding like organized effort. Someone or SOMETHING named Shrak was starting up his own little empire on the surface below. With the firepower and totally misaligned DNA patterns that these creatures embodied, containing them on Earth was essential to the survival of mankind.
YOU were the CHOSEN ONE - the lucky guy picked to be sent back to look things over but this up close and personal crap wasn't part of the deal!!!...

...you give up trying to make sense of what has happened - it's all just a blur of emergency lights, screaming alarms and Mother Earth getting larger in front of you... ...your watch tells you that you've been out of it for quite a while. If THEY had seen your ship come down, you would've been hamburger before your nap was over.
a quick check of the ships systems show that just about the only thing working is the display reading: you calculate your ships position against the star maps and realize you aren't TOO FAR from what is left of civilization on the surface - and the quicker you get underway, the sooner you can get the hell off this rock and back to your world.
PAIN, FEAR and AGONY await...
As you enter the transportation hub, you realize that it is completely abandoned and desolate of spare parts. There is no way to reach safety without some major repairs to your spaceship. You must somehow find the encoded circuit cards to repair your ship and kill the Bastard SHRAK and his mutant clan.
You now leave your ship behind and wonder if you REALLY even WANT to find out what's happening here...
You head past the smashed computer banks to the one working teleporter. You have no idea where it will lead you, only that your quest will begin.
