Methods of Destruction was an alternative soundtrack for Quake, created in 1996 by Sascha Dikiciyan ("Cyber-Age Studios") who later did the Quake 2 soundtrack as Sonic Mayhem. It was for sale on his website which can be found in the Internet Archive. You can also download some sample files there.

Methods of Destruction received a nice review by Bluesnews. Some more random tidbits: 1, 2, 3, 4 (says it was not him alone making the music). There are hints that some more snippets might have aired at QuakeCast. Does someone have those archived?

On the archived version of the original website the Shockwave streams seem to be unarchived but the .wav files can be downloaded. See below for the WAV files encoded in FLAC (original WAVs are in /files/music/methods_of_destruction/, the Ogg Vorbis versions were encoded in Q5 and tagged by Spirit.

Quake for the Sega Saturn has an additional CD audio track, namely the track B7 from Sonic Mayhem's Methods of Destruction. Well, I set out to get it and what I got was ugly. First of all, the track is only on the US release. And then comes something really ugly. They shrunk all the originals tracks. Not only on the US release to make room for the track. But also on the PAL/EU one where it would not be needed. Well, lazy porting after licensing issues I guess.

Take a look at this if you want a glimpse. The first one is always the full PC soundtrack. Long story short, I decided to host a copy of the track until further notice. You could also get a used copy of Quake for the Sega Saturn (the US version!) very cheaply (just wait if there is no decent offer anywhere).
