=========================================================================== Review : Five levels, each of them more complex than the previous. =========================================================================== Primary purpose : Single+Coop play / Deathmatch =========================================================================== Title : BRETT2 Version 1.1 --> Brett's Hell Filename : BRET2AWE.WAD (v.1.1) Release date : 01/11/94 MM/DD/YY (Timestamp of the batch- and textfile) Author : Brett Russell Email Address : B Evan R (America On Line) Misc. Author Info : First started creating PWADS in July 1994 Description : A visit back to the shores of hell discovers a new time and place for you. A whole new series of new and playable (by both the novice and the expert player) levels. As doors suddenly open around you, a feeling of sheer terror and excitement envelopes you. Discover what is waiting in the bowels of Brett's Hell. =========================================================================== * What is included * New levels : 5 Sounds : Yes Music : Yes Graphics : No Dehacked/BEX Patch : No Demos : No Other : Yes (A batch-file, to launch the WAD.) Other files required : No Additional Equipment : Soundblaster AWE-32 Card Note by the uploader : E2M2 has been first released as BREVIL.WAD; E2M3 as BRNASTY.WAD; E2M4 as BRKILLER.WAD. Each of them separately in zips with the same filename. There has then been also an older version, BRETT1.WAD, that had only the first four levels. I added the title 'Brett's Hell' from the template of that earler version for this WAD to the title of this /idgames -upload. It makes it more moody. I hope, that coimes close to the intentions of the creator. The next version, BRETT2.WAD (Title: BRETT2 Version 1.0), added a fifth level and music for each level. The version 1.1, BRET2AWE.WAD, that comes in this upload, has other music than v.1.0, optimized for the Soundblaster AWE-3. Since the music is apparently the only difference between 1.0 and 1.1, i have extracted the music from BRETT2.WAD and included it as brett2mus.wad into this package, because some people might take the different melodies as essential for the mood. ... At least i do! ;) By this way, you don't miss anything. In order to hear the music from the older version, you have just to add the brett2mus.wad after BRET2AWE.WAD to your command-line. * Play Information * Game : DOOM Map # : E2M1, E2M2, E2M3, E2M4, E2M5 Single Player : Designed for Cooperative 2-4 Player : Designed for Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Designed for Other game styles : No Difficulty Settings : Yes See wadwhatoutput.txt for more information. * Construction * Base : New from scratch Editor(s) used : DEU 5.2, BSP 2.1X, REJECT 1.0 Known Bugs : NONE, BUT ONE ROOM IN E2M5 IS SLOW DUE TO COMPLEXITY * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use this level as a base to build additional levels.
