================================================================ Title : "CETI ALPHA VI" - for DOOM ][ Filename : CETIALP6.WAD/.ZIP File size : Almost 400K unzipped. Authors : S. Lampert Email Addresses : jumpstile@fortunat.pdial.interpath.net (Send me some comments, I'd love to know what you think.) Description : This WAD was designed from scratch originally as a Deathmatch level. It now works well for co-op or single play as well, and supports ALL the skill settings. Ultraviolent is TRULY ultraviolent. Also, you DO NOT NEED to find ANY secret doors to get all the keys. There are no places where you can't get out of, no places where you are going to fall in poison with 200% health and have to wait till you die (I hate that). However, there are many many secret switches, doors and items that are worth the effort to look for. There is only ONE BFG in the level and it is fairly well hidden. It also requires the finding of a secret or two to get to. And there is a sure-fire way to tell if your "cohorts" have found it before you. If you truly cannot solve this level (try harder!) I have a LMP that shows the solution available by request. Important Notes: This is a relatively large level. As such it MAY run slow on slower systems. I only have access to a 486DX/66 VLB and a 486DX/33 ISA so these are the only two platforms I could test it on. It runs fine on these platforms (both systems have at least 12 megs of RAM). I've tested the level with up to 3 players and its fully playable. I've also fully optimized the reject map as best I could with RMB (excellent program) so its about as fast as it's going to get. When I designed this level, I had it in mind to have lots of traps and tricks to nail your friends with. Pull a switch here and it will let out a lot of monsters there, etc. Some switches you may have to look in other places to see what they do. However, the harder it is to discover, the better the reward. And lastly, the demos are very short and use the keyboard at turbo level 175. For some reason I'm unaware of, DOOM ][ will only allow a demo to be about 20K when included in wad. Otherwise it gets kind of "lost" and starts walking into walls and shooting things that aren't there. Weird. Additional Credits to : Jackie & David Larmay for many beta test runs. Norma Williams (whoever she is) for an excellent rendition of The Lemon Song. The guys at id for an addictive game. All you map editor, reject map builder, WAD manipulator, etc. authors that devote so much time to this excellent game. :) ================================================================ * Play Information * Episode and Level # : MAP 1 Single Player : Yes Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes Difficulty Settings : ALL New Sounds : Yes New Graphics : No New Music : Yes - The Lemon Song (I've editted the original MIDI file so it sounds better now) Demos Replaced : 1,2,3 * Construction * Editor(s) used : Edmap 1.30, RMB 2.1b, TED, Deutex 3.1, IDBSP 1.1 Known Bugs : None * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use this level as a base to build additional levels.
