This map was prepared from Allied aerial
reconnaissance photos.
Ordinarily, an Allied submarine or
surface vessel disguised as a neutral freighter or fishing
trawler would drop you off at Point A; you would then
proceed to swim up the fjord and into the pen where the
German u-boat is being kept. However, both the mouth of the
fjord and the entrance to the pen are heavily mined and
impenetrable. As a result, you will be dropped off by trawler at Point B, an inlet near a small canyon to the rear of the base and thus lightly defended. From here, you will proceed first to the water treatment plant at Point C. This plant provides underground access to the dam at Point D. This dam is the only way to cross the gorge and reach the base on the other side. After crossing the dam at Point D, you will descend the mountain and enter the base. Your first target are the barracks at Point E. This structure contains sleeping quarters for most of the personnel stationed at this base, as well as an armory where you can obtain weapons to complete your mission. From the barracks, you will infiltrate the command center at Point F, then proceed to the research facility at Point G. It is in this building that Dr. Nein's office and laboratories are located, and you are to terminate Nein and his heavy water experiments. The shark farm at Point H is where genetically engineered sharks are bred and raised before they are released into the waters around the base. You are to destroy as many of these mutants as possible before proceeding to Point I, the u-boat bunker. At Point I, you are to terminate both Admiral Klettefass (the German navy officer in charge of the U-238 project) and Captain Fischgesicht (the commander of the U-238). Then you are to board the u-boat itself, plant charges in its engine room, and destroy it. Once the U-238 has been destroyed, you are to proceed up the canyon to Point J, a blockhouse where the missing Allied operatives have been jailed, and rescue them; then take them down to Point K on the coast, where an Allied submarine will pick you up. Good luck, Captain Blazkowicz! |
