=========================================================================== Primary purpose : Multiplayer =========================================================================== Title : DeathManager! v1.5 extra configs Filename : dmdat.zip Release date : 2013-11-10 Author : Simon Howard Email Address : idgames@soulsphere.org or fraggle@removethisbit.gmail.com Other Files By Author : greenfish.wad Description : This is a set of configuration files for DeathManager! v1.5 (DM.EXE). This version of DM was included with later versions of Heretic, Hexen and Final Doom, but requires a special configuration file (DM.DAT) in order to operate. This is a set of such configuration files for Ultimate Doom, Doom II, Strife and Chex Quest. Additional Credits to : John Romero for authoring DM =========================================================================== * How to set up * The following files are included in this .zip: dm15.zip - Zipped copy of DM v1.5 with documentation. doom\dm.dat - Configuration file for Ultimate Doom. doom2\dm.dat - Configuration file for Doom II. strife\dm.dat - Configuration file for Strife. chex\dm.dat - Configuration file for Chex Quest. Unzip dm15.zip into your Doom (or other game) directory, overwriting your old DM.EXE if necessary; you can also rename it. Then copy the appropriate configuration file into the same directory. * Known Bugs * Chex Quest doesn't include copies of IPXSETUP or SERSETUP, so this is of limited use there. You can still use it to start single player games. DM v1.5 removed support for classic deathmatch (not altdeath) mode. You can achieve the same effect by running dm.exe with '-deathmatch' on the command line and selecting 'Cooperative' mode in the interface. For Strife there is no cooperative multiplayer mode: multiplayer games are always deathmatch. In this case, 'Cooperative' mode functions as 'classic' deathmatch while 'DeathMatch' mode functions as deathmatch 2.0 (altdeath). * Copyright / Permissions * You can do anything you want with these configuration files. I release them to the public domain. * Where to get the file that this text file describes * The Usual: ftp://archives.3dgamers.com/pub/idgames/ and mirrors
