Title : Arachnophobia Filename : spiders.zip Version : 1.0 Date : 9/24/97 (24th of September '97) Author : Ryan Wetherill aka Reven Email : rwetheri@vt.edu Credit : Whoever it was who made HCC. Thanks for getting a compiler out to us early. Raven Software and id Software Type of Mod ----------- HexenC : yes Sound : no MDL : no Format of HexenC ---------------- unified diff : no context diff : no .hc files : yes (the modified .hcs) progs.dat : yes Description of the Modification ------------------------------- Lets you summon a spider by using Impulse 120, it will follow you around till it dies. They have about a 5 minute lifetime and about 0 exp. Every once in a while a spider will give you 1 exp. Pumped up the Necromancer's abilities a little. I also took out the cosmos cheats. I felt like it. Damn it's creepy seeing 50 of those spiders following you. How to Install the Modification ------------------------------- I've included the progs.dat and copies of the modified HC files. To use the progs.dat, go to your HexenII base directory. Make a subdirectory and call it what you will. 'Spider' is good for an example. Then run HexenII adding "-game Spider" to the command line. BUGS ---- Oooo yeah. Lots of em. Lotsa spiders. Other than those: 1) Spiders sometimes spawn into hillsides and walls. Anything sloped will usually screw them up. 2) They don't attack normal creatures... yet. 3) Don't make too many or the game will crash. 4) I'm not sure about multiplayer, they might attack other players. I added a death msg in case. 5) They like to stack on one another, usualy getting stuck on each other.
