Release notes
This is the demo version of Blitzkrieg:1941, a single-player mod for Unreal Tournament. The events in this demo happen during one day in August 1941, when you as a German sergeant join the assault on the Eastern Front. Before the real battles you must complete a small tutorial level.
System requirements
The demo version of Blitzkrieg:1941 has the same system requirements as Unreal Tournament, and also requires additional 90Mb of free HD space.
Installation (PC)
1. Uncompress the zip file to your Unreal Tournament directory. This way the files will be automatically unzipped to the right folders.
2. Run 1941setup.exe located in the Unreal Tournament directory to add a shortcut to desktop or start menu. Alternatively you can run the game with the following command line from the DOS-prompt or "Run" in Start menu: "UnrealTournament INI=Jatkosota.ini".
Installation (Mac)
1. Uncompress the zip file to your Unreal Tournament directory. This way the demo files will be automatically added to the right folders.
2. Take a backup of the original UnrealTournament.ini file in the UnrealTournament\System directory.
3. Change the following lines in the original UnrealTournament.ini and then run the game:
[URL]
Map=JS_Intro.unr
LocalMap=JS_Intro.unr
Class=Jatkosota.JS_Player[Engine.Engine]
Console=Jatkosota.JS_Console
Gameplay notes
- When using the shorcut created by 1941setup.exe program, Blitzkrieg:1941 uses a separate INI file which means that the hardware configuration window appears the first time you run the game.
- 800x600 display mode is recommended in this demo.
- When playing the game for the first time, configure the keys from the keyboard menu (Main Menu > Options > Customize Controls).
- In Audio/Video options, there's a feature called "MCUTS" which improves the framerate by displaying far-away actors as sprites instead of polygons. For slower machines, it's recommended that you keep this feature on. You can also change the MCUTS drawing distance and update frequency.- Besides the inventory mode, you can switch weapons with number keys 1 to 0
