A quake2 movie in the dm2 format. 8/12/98 The Death of Lilhat - A short film by Keith Hersel e-mail author at zissereus@louisville.edu To run, unzip dol.zip into your quake2 directory. It will create a folder called dol. put the dol.bat file into your x:\quake2 directory. If you need any special parameters to start quake2 then bring up the dos prompt, goto x:\quake2 and type dol +.... where .... is the extra settings. Otherwise just click on the batch file. It should run with no problems, but if some arise use +set game dol and run quake2 normally. The map is dol.dm2 This is my first movie and really it was just to learn the new keygrip. Normally I wouldn't release something that was just a learning example, but there's not many movies out there yet so the more the merrier. The demo had been recorded awhile back with me typing messages for the dialog. I had been playing quake with my roommy and he went to the bathroom. I thought the "movie" would be funny so I recorded him being shot then jumped on his computer and bound a key to play the demo. When he came back I suggested he press that key and he saw it. At the time he didn't know anything about demo's so this confused him and he wanted to know why that button had done that! I explain this so that no one thinks I am simply redoing the movie that came with the keygrip files. I already had that wav file and the idea to use it so I was suprised when my idea was played out before me in an example movie. I don't particularly like Goo Goo dolls, but as I was playing with my demo the song came on the radio so I grabbed my mic and held it up to a speaker. That's how that got in there. I hope somebody somewhere enjoys this. I'll be starting another project soon, so hopefully you'll see more of my work. Zissereus (Keith Hersel)
