Blah: blah. Check out those cool pages: http://members.harborcom.net/~solosoul/ http://fugue.terrafusion.com/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Play info: Single Play: NO Cooperative: NO Deathmatch: YES (8-16 players)- built for 10+ players, tested with 8-16 bots. it works fine with 8 bots on my p233 mmx 64 mb,it's not very crowded indeed,it's good with 12 bots ,and the framerate is decent. With 16 bots the map looks crowded and the framerate drops. Difficulty setting: no way New sounds: NO New textures: a few new textures. *How to use. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO HANDLE A PAK FILE SKIP THIS PART. ---Method 1:how to put it in your Baseq2 directory. -Unzip the PAK0.pak (the one found in the file bariodm2.zip) into any directory. -Go to your quake2/baseq2 directory. -Check the .pak files you have in the directory: you should have a certain number of pak file, each called PAKx.pak, where the x is a number,(eg: PAK0.pak,PAK1.pak,PAK2.pak...).The pak files should be in order from 0 to higher numbers (tipically u might have up to PAK3.pak or PAK4.pak).So, have a look to higher number u have in the folder. -Rename the file PAK0.pak (the one found in the file bariodm2.zip) with the higher number plus one. Very important: DO NOT OVERWRITE anything in your baseq2 directory. The quake2 engine works basically like that: It reads all the pak files in the baseq2 directory named with name PAKx.pak (where x is a number) only when the x are sequential. (eg,if you have PAK0.pak,PAK1.pak and PAK2.pak,quake2 will read all of them;if u have PAK0.pak,PAK1.pak and PAK6.pak,quake2 will read just the PAK0.pak and PAK1.pak,and will ignore the other stuff.) I hope u got the point. Launch quake2 (u could load any mod,or play it on the net) and then type "map bariodm2" at the console. ---Method 2: how to put it in your favorite Bot directory. -Unzip the PAK0.pak (the one found in the file bariodm2.zip) into any directory. -Read above. -Rename it (like explained above). launch quake2 loading your favourite bot,and then type "map bariodm2" at the consoie. Note that you won't be able to play it in the net (even if this shouldn't be a problem) or with any other bot,if you put the pack file in a folder different from baseq2 one. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Construction info Building time: about 15 hours for building,+15 hours testing and optimizing. 1 hour (???) for the new textures. Tools used: WorldCraft 1.6a,wally 1.10,nextpad. Bugs: Please report any. Compiling time: qbsp3: 21 sec qvis3 -level 4: 96 sec gddrad3 -extra: 440 sec Compiled on P233 MMX (overclocked from 166) 64mb SDRAM,running win98. Well, the map is built, tested and optimized with a bot match in mind (Crbot for me). It's balanced in order not get big areas very busy, and making all the weapons not too hard to get,so that the bots can actually reach all of them. The only thing a bot will probably never get is the quad: u have to shoot a button to get to it,so if u find a way to tell that a bot, please let me know. If you enjoyed my first mission pack "the production complex" and my first dm map bariodm1.zip,check this out. I'm member of the Black Omega developing team, and I'm currently working on The Stroggo's Conspiracy,a professional freeware mission pack that will actually blow you out.
