December 22, 1997 ================================================================ Title : Centrifuge Filename : Cent.bsp Author : Scott Dalton (aka Dr.Rigormortis9) Email Address : yagyu@machida.xaxon-net.or.jp Homepage : http://www.killme.com/zer.htm Description : Deathmatch level for Quake 2 Additional Credits to : id Software, for Quake, Impulse 9 & nihilism Unlimited, just cause ================================================================ ---------------Play Information--------------- Level Name : Centrifuge Single : If you wanna, but don't blame me if it's boring Deathmatch 2-XX players : A small map, includes 20 actual spawns which lead to 10 actual in game spawn points. (see below) Comments : This map was basically a Q2 technology test for me to play with qe4 and get used to some new Q2 stuff. Pretty basic DM level, please excuse me if a few textures are slightly off, but qe4 without a real gl card = whoa, am I tripping or are those textures warping like crazy? There are 20 actual spawn points, where the player will pick up a shotgun and then warp to the actual in-map spawn point (read- you will always begin this level with a shotgun unless you're unfortunate enough to hit a spawn point someone just used, which is possible due to random spawns, but there are 20 spawn points, so unless a lot of people are playing, you'll usually spawn with a shotgun, no peashooters here.) Should be small enough for a one on one, but also allow for a decent number of players... This level's nickname - The Vomitron... You got a friend who says, "I can't play quake. It makes me dizzy."? Put them in the vomitron for five minutes... Just don't forget to cover up the keyboard. ---------------Construction--------------- Base : built from scratch Build Time : 2 1/2 days Entities : didn't count... Brushes : again, didn't count... BSP file size : 797k ---------------Compile Info-------------- Don't remember, somewhat rough guesses... qbsp3 : 39 seconds qvis3 -level 4 : 200 seconds qrad -extra : 1020 seconds On a Pentium 200 running win95 with 64mb ram. ----------------------------------------- Editor(s) used : QE4 Known Bugs : None that I know of. ---------------Legal Stuff--------------- You may NOT include this map in ANY sort of compilation without prior arrangements with me. ----INSTALLATION---- Copy the .bsp into a subdirectory of quake2\baseq2 called maps, (ie c:\quake2\baseq2\maps) Then run quake2. Go into the console by pressing the key left of the 1 key (~), and type in "map mapname". The .bsp extension should not be typed in, and neither the inverted commas. --------------------
