July 7, 1998 ================================================================ Title : Corsailles Filename(s) : corsai.bsp Author : Mike Daugherty [aka Jerkoff] Email Address : ninbroke@silcon.com Homepage : http://www.gibbed.com/jerkoff/ Description : Deathmatch level for Quake2 Additional Credits to : id Software, for Quake and Quake2 Ben Morris, for Worldcraft Thanks to Ridah for the KILLER Eraser Bots ================================================================ ----INSTALLATION---- Copy CORSAI.BSP into a subdirectory of quake2\baseq2 called maps. (i.e. c:\quake2\baseq2\maps) Then run quake2. *To just take a look at the level in single player, go into the console by pressing the key left of the 1 key (~), and type in "map corsai". The .bsp extension should not be typed in, and neither the inverted commas. *Eraser Bots* ============================================= I've included the Eraser Bot route for this map in the zip file. Place corsai.rtz in: x:\quake2\eraser\routes\ ('x' being the letter of your hard drive) Note: 1on1 vs an Eraser bot doesn't work quite as well as I'd like -- the bot will roam around pretty well, but once he goes after the quad, he gets stuck on the ladder. He can't figure out how to get up the last 64 units of the ladder for some reason. So if you're gonna play this map with bots, your best bet is a 4-10 player fragfest :) ============================================= ---------------Play Information--------------- Level Name(s) : Corsailles Single : NO Deathmatch 2-10 : Yessir (more than 10 may get a little bloody :) Coop : NO Comments : R_speeds jump to 800 in two spots, but I don't believe they get any higher. Oh, and if you're wondering about the name of this map... I made it up :) Maybe it is somebody's last name, but it just came into my head one day and I said to myself, "That would make a cool name!". Ahem. ---------------Construction--------------- corsai.bsp Base : built from scratch Build Time : 5 days, off and on Entities : 131 Brushes : 1235 BSP file size : 996kb Compile time : About 1 hour ----------------------------------------- Editor(s) used : Worldcraft 1.6a Registered Known Bugs : One of the most noticable (and unfortunate) bugs is the HOM effect that you can see by standing on the lower level of the "railgun room" looking through a particular door... It doesn't really hinder gameplay, but it really is ugly. As for fixing it, I don't know what the hell to do. Must be a VIS error or something -- I have no idea. I haven't noticed any mis-aligned textures, but I'm sure I missed something. ---------------Legal Stuff--------------- You may NOT include this map in ANY sort of compilation without permission. This map is sole property of Michael Daugherty -- any misuse of this map will result in prosecution.
