*** QuakeMap 2.8 *** This is a level/patch/etc editor for Quake, the game by id Software. It combines a map editor, a QuakeC code compiler, and a front-end for running Quake. New: BSP Hacking Requirements : Registered Quake, Windows 95, and the QBSP/VIS/LIGHT utilities. No Texture .wad needed. QUAKEMAP is centralized on a proprietary file format, with extension ".qme". Although you may use it as a standard ".map" editor, simple yet powerful, it is far more than just that : the ".qme" file format can store a lot of things more than just a map. You can store several maps, code patches (written in QuakeC), files like new sounds or new models for Quake, new textures, and more, in a single .qme file, and distribute it in this format, ready to run. You can also use it as just a code compiler that produces more efficient code than QCC, and that doesn't suffer from QCC's size limitations. It is also an ideal way to distribute new map-related behaviors, like new monsters or power-ups that anyone will be able to add to his maps. Read the included QMAP28.TXT for the remaining of the introduction to QuakeMap. Armin Rigo. (arigo@alphanet.ch) (no file attachments nor mailing lists at this address !!!)
