Quake 1 with Oculus Rift

Hi,
I actually run Quake 1 on a late 2008 MacBook Pro.
I've seen online some videos of Quake 1 with Oculus Rift , and now I'd really like to buy an Oculus DK2 to play Quake 1, DooM and HeXen.
Will my MacBook run those titles fluidly with the Rift?
Any experiences as well?
Thank you!

Re: Quake 1 with Oculus Rift

Hey,
I don't have an oculus, but the minimum system requirements for DK2 are fairly steep: https://support.oculus.com/hc/en-us/art … -Kit-2-FAQ
"Nvidia GTX 600 or Radeon HD 7000". So most likely, it won't work at all on a 2008 MBP. DK2 is also windows-only.

The latest Quakespasm-Rift release does claim to support the DK2, however: https://github.com/phoboslab/Quakespasm-Rift/releases

Hi ericw and thank you for your answer.
I thought the same until I found this article:

He has almost the same specs of my Mac... I don't know if it was on DK1 or DK2.

Re: Quake 1 with Oculus Rift

I think that's the DK1, because the DK2 came out in July 2014 or so. Maybe ask on the oculus reddit?
Could just look for a DK1 on ebay or something :D
