The Quake Awards 2018

Check out the The Quake Awards 2018 - an event to highlight some of the best releases from the previous year.

People were asked to submit suggestions in several categories out of which the winning maps were picked by a set of judges. In addition to this, there is a 'people's choice' award where users could vote for their favorite map of 2017.

The categories are:

  • Best vanilla map

  • Best expanded limits map

  • Best visuals

  • Best gameplay

  • Best oddball map

The winning maps as well as their runner-ups are listed here: The Quake Awards 2018

Indeed they do! Doomworld likes the idea too, although they roasted the name lol.

Creampuffs one and all. Quake is serious business. No time for cutesy names in other dimensions. Go pet your Cacodemon plushie and let us real men make real 3d maps for a real 3d game!

;)

2018 was the very first year...

As for the name, there was some discussion about it but all attempts at a wordplay ended up lame instead of cool.
