Re: Releases missing from database

Dude, seriously. Two clicks is not too much to ask for... The delay in updates is getting a bit ridiculous.

I agree! But I haven't visited that site for ages and I don't plan to ever do it again. Unless that community has finally gotten a hold of its trolls and harassers?

Spirit, is there any chance you'd let certain users who know how to package our releases upload to this site?

Re: Releases missing from database

I have removed one inflammatory trolling post by onetruepurple above, if someone wants to know the contents, just mail me. Consequently I can not take their word for what to add to the archive. If someone trustworthy goes through the links and verifies they are what they are supposed to be, instant upload. Two of them are on bad file hosts though.

dumbtruck_ds: No, that would just make things even more messy. The archive is an unsalvageable mess. We need to move on to a system where it does not matter how someone named or packaged a file. Things should never have been renamed or repackaged. I would love to work on a archive for all kinds of files (maps, mods, engines). In Python. With IPFS or something similar. Dropping the existing server-side file introspection. Dropping the existing ugly Injector stuff. Git for metadata. ETC! It would allow to drastically remove my annoying grip. Trolls like above do a fine job of killing my motivation regularly though.

Re: Releases missing from database

FFS, The links are all legit as they are from the release threads I posted! What else do you need to make this happen...? Dumptruck's question is not too far off, because it's been a hassle to get stuff on Quaddicted for a while and I admit I'm getting tired of this situation since even I can't do anything if the files aren't uploaded - it's doing a fine job of killing MY motivation. Like I said in the other thread, if mappers are incapable of following basic release pricinples, it's their business and we don't have to maintain QI compatibility at all costs. But at least the database entries will be there for people to see and download.

I would like an explanation as to why my question about Quaddicted regulars bullying others for difference in opinion was deleted as "inflammatory trolling post".

Re: Releases missing from database

Thank you for uploading all the recent maps!

I'm sorry to nitpick, but the author for "Amphitheater of Abaddon" should be Esrael, not Esreal.

Re: Releases missing from database

This Box is in the filebase, but it can't be added to the DB, because it was zipped with some obscure tool or format that can't be read by the script. Same issue that prevented the original Jam8 zip and the Shamblernaut zips from being added.

Re: Releases missing from database

Thanks! Intrusion.zip, colosseum.zip and hwjam.zip added. I will not alter files anymore nor accept repackages just for Quaddicted (what a huge mistake that was), we need to find solutions on https://www.quaddicted.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=622

Re: Releases missing from database

Could a hidden command line-type of field for the Injector help, a long string that tells it how to extract/treat each individual file in the zip? Or to ignore subfolders? For example: testmap.bsp||/id1/maps/; testmap.lit||/id1/maps/; skybox.tga||/gfx/env/; spooky.wav||/sounds/ambience/

Edit: Intrusion DB page is inaccessible ("yummyumm"), possible because of the capitalized file name?

Re: Releases missing from database

renamed and uploaded, lots of love!

for the successor I definitely see per-file installation instructions as necessary...

Re: Releases missing from database

I should. I just noticed your post in the other thread and hurried to delete mine but you were faster in answering.

Included sm191? I don't see that in https://www.quaddicted.com/forum/viewto … 3084#p3084 and it is the newest one

http://quaketastic.com/files/sm191_pack.zip

EDI: Oh yeah, forget it, i see it now in the first post.
