Re: The legal status of 'NIN' soundtrack in 'Quake'

I have been using the alternative soundtrack, promoted by 'Greenwood' on his 'Youtube' channel, for some time now and I find the option very satisfying; I would dare say it is nearly as fitting as the eternal 'NIN'. Perhaps, the alternative would still use some minor tweak - the search, is not over - but altogether, it creates a very solid ambiance in the 'Quake' gameplay.

Have you heard about an artist called 'Lustmord'? I wonder how would his work, sound, if involved with 'Quake'.

Fans of NiN and metal, check out the new Haiduk album Diabolica [death metal]

Vein of 'Quake 2' soundtrack, rather than 'Quake', in my opinion.

True. I'm more of a fan of ambient, Quake 1 style soundtracks when gaming. But faster stuff is good too.

@'haiduk', your av brings me certain vibes; have you listened to Antichrist by 'Gorgoroth', for example?

I think that the music and sounds of the environment should not be so aggressive and fast. There are a lot of atmospheric tracks in the modifications and I change them periodically. Unfortunately I don't like the original NIN tracks for the game for the above reason.

But this is my opinion. If you like to run and shoot to this music in the game, then do it and enjoy. I sometimes do that too, but rarely. ))))))

I just don't like Death metal. The music may be good, but the hoarse and roaring voices of the vocalists of the songs are something terrible! I like Industrial more. But this is again my opinion. ))))))

I think that soundtracks for gaming - in a way like soundtracks for movies - unnecessarily do mean the same as club music, dance music or music made for listening, especially contemplative listening or a kind of listening that requires understanding, maybe certain mood to be in.

In the vein of nails, nailguns, 'Nine Inch Nails', Jesus Christ crucified and death/black metal, this album of 'Samael' - 'Ceremony of Opposites' - is pretty iconic, even though not entirely my kind of vibe.
