New Release: "The Dreamer's Demesne" (ad_mfk_dreamdem)

UPDATE: Release revised to fix an issue with easy and normal difficulties.  The new link is provided below! :)

"You awaken to the whistling of a chill wind and the sight of dunes illuminated by moonlight.  Through the crackling of nearby torches, you hear a shrill, otherworldly cry in the distance behind you.  This is the demesne of the Dreamer, where nightmares beyond measure creep through sleepless, azure halls."

Hey there Quakers - I'm proud/excited to give back to the community that has provided me with so much entertainment and release my first map "The Dreamer's Demesne"!  This is a relatively concise play at around 15 minutes on harder difficulties (and all secrets), utilizing Arcane Dimensions 1.8.1 as a base.  I learned so much in this process and am grateful the numerous people that helped me in the Quake mapping Discord.  Here are some features and screenshots to catch your interest.  I hope you enjoy!

- Atmospheric desert complex bathed in moonlight
- Utilizes the diverse enemy varieties and skins included in Arcane Dimensions
- Incorporates a complete weapon set, 5 elaborate secrets, and ~70+ monsters (on hard/nightmare difficulty)
- Playtime of approximately 15 min, depending on difficulty level and degree of exploration
- Custom water sounds, music (appropriately from Nine Inch Nails), skybox and textures (both personally modified and borrowed from credited artists)

DL (UPDATED): https://www.quaketastic.com/files/singl … 1.1%29.zip

NOTE: Map requires a source port that supports bsp2 format (increased limits) and Arcane Dimensions 1.8.1. Tested on Quakespasm and QSS.

Thanks for a beautiful map. Hard to believe it is your first one. My first (and the last map) was a square room with shotgun, two soldiers and several leaks. Map is small, but gameplay is fun. I 've just finished it on hard an the only complain would be the scale. Everything should be way bigger. Architecture and brushwork itself is OK, textures, all the little details here and there are fine, but the level should be bigger. Enemies, especially AD enemies are bigger and they hardly fit into environment.

Anyway, impressive for the first level. Good choice of textures. You cast can't go wrong with blue :-)

Thanks so much for the kind words, man! I'm really happy to hear you had fun (and avoided the now fixed bug in normal difficulty by playing it on hard)! I 100% agree on the scale and intend to improve in that area on my next map.  Just kinda started tight as I began learning and stayed at that scale through development.

And as much as I love blue, I may explore other colors next time XD. I'm practically dreaming in blue now.

Maybe icelandic with rocks, green moss, meneliths and overall overgrowth? Deep chasms with pathways on the cliffs down to the sole?
