Apologies and thank you in advance!

Sorry I'm just getting around to your submission now. Unfortunately there's a few issues with your file packaging.

1. You put everything in a folder called "Idcsp1.5", which Quake will treat like a mod folder. However, that means idcsp1.bsp MUST be in a folder called "maps"... e.g. /Idcsp1.5/maps/idcsp1.bsp

2. Also, please use only lowercase characters for your file name and folder name. Idcsp1.5 >> idcsp1.5

3. You should probably use a new name for a new version.... e.g. idcsp1.5 >> idcsp1.6

4. Don't include SQLauncher2.exe in your ZIP

I can still create a page for your submission if you don't want to fix your file, but it will be broken for some users of this website, and they might complain.

Hi Pawel. Unfortunately your file is improperly packaged; it's in a folder called "Cultist_Castle", which Quake will treat like a mod folder. if you do this, all BSP files must be in a subfolder called "maps" or else Quake engines cannot load them. Additionally, you should avoid using uppercase letters since some systems are case-sensitive. Another option is not to include any folders at all, and simply have a "cultist_castle.bsp" at the root of the ZIP file. For more info, see https://www.quaddicted.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=605

I can still create a page if you don't want to fix your file, but it will broken for some users of this website, and they'll maybe complain to you. Let me know if that's what you want.

Otherwise, you should probably reupload a new version, ideally with a new filename, all lowercase, like "cultist_castle_v2.zip"

Jenilson. I made a video on how to release a map a few years ago. Some of the info is a "little" out of date and I will probably make an updated one next year. But this might help you or if you've seen it - should be a good refresher. https://youtu.be/eQ911Wphy0Q

Re: Tracking new releases (for addition to the database)

Apologies to anyone who thinks the updates are slow... a lot of my time is currently being spent on contacting people about their broken files / submissions.

A lot of them are first time mappers, which is a good thing we all want to encourage, so I'm erring on the side of communication and education.

But progress will be slow as I work through the backlog, educate people, and try to get fixed versions submitted. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

***

The yummyumm! thing is because the ZIP file begins with an uppercase letter, which apparently Quaddicted's system currently can't handle. So the page breaks. Spirit has to manually fix it.

***

And to the level design teacher at Breda University of Applied Sciences: thank you for sending students here.

... but also in the future, please check over your students' files and be more strict with the file structure. Quaddicted systems are unfortunately very old fashioned and, um, unique... and so this site has strict specific requirements about how the ZIP files must be packaged and named, and it consumes limited volunteer time and resources to chase down your students.

Re: Tracking new releases (for addition to the database)

I made the error message that was "yummyumm" more descriptive now, sorry about that.

The system does not support uppercase characters (because filesystems are sometimes sensitive and sometimes not and it would be a complete mess if https://www.quaddicted.com/files/maps/singleplayer/ contained both abc.zip, Abc.zip, ABC.zip, AbC.zip and so on and the people came with Windows filesystems where those would collide) due to its current limitations. It's pretty annoying and not what people reasonably expect...

I forget about it all the time and just blindly upload what people tell me to upload. One backend system has no issues with this (thus database entries get created) but then another system blocks access. Gah!

Renamed:
clockofdeath.zip (fixed the db entry too, sorry for the troubles, radiatoryang)
cultist_castle.zip
quakeskull.zip
yoshingtonpalace.zip
contaminated carverns v3.zip
idcsp1.zip
idcsp1.5.zip

Re: Tracking new releases (for addition to the database)

Andrew, thanks for the links! But please do NOT simply copy text from other websites when posting descriptions here. That's plagiarism. Quoting from readme files is fine but please mark those excerpts in quotes then. Alternatively, ask the authors of those texts for explicit permission in a documented way.

radiatoryang: ^, at least those last three description texts were at least partially copied from other people's writings, please do not use them for our database entries.
