Small / medium sized base themed map in a classic id1 style for vanilla Quake. The author's first release for Quake."I recently picked up TrenchBroom again and I simply cannot hide it any longer: the undistilled ease with which I've been able to put together extremely satisfying custom Quake maps has far, far exceeded the joy that Doom has brought me even over the last decade-and-a-half. I have moved on, nay, transcended to a new medium, and have now seen the light - 3D is better than 2.5D, in every way conceivable. [...] I sincerely hope you enjoy my final hurrah, which is a Quake map that I had the inimitable MarkieMusic assist with live onstream in mid-2021. I picked it up again and polished it off for release. It may not be much, as there's fewer than 100 enemies and it serves as little more than an introduction to my forthcoming Quake era, but I sincerely hope you enjoy. You'll see my future posts on Slipseer in the coming months as I release more content for my soon-to-be-announced Quake set, entitled "Doomless"."

Solid first release with a satisfying 3D layout. It's a shame it's box "sealed" like that. I know the description is mostly joking but I'd welcome more Quake maps from Jimmy.
Lovely little map, Jimmy knows how to make a level. Would love to see a medieval map!
This was really fun to play, just Quake-like-it-began. Solid base map.
Jumping on the surrounding rocks and climbing around there ended with falling in an outer watery area, where I got stuck. No secret to find there. Maybe that wasn't intended by author.
Very fun map!
This was a pretty decent map. Maybe a bit too Doomy. Where's my nail gun? Because of this I find that combat enjoyment will depend on finding that secret grenade launcher. Accessible very early in the map, and it makes all the difference.
The map looks lovely though.
What a delightful little map! Classic Quake style, consistent theme all the way through...very nice! Impressive for a 'first'.
I certainly hope we will see more from this mapper in the future; this map leaves quite high expectations...
Thanks for your efforts; thanks for sharing!
Of cause it's assumable that there will be a rocket launcher, when there are some rockets.
I played the map another time today. And again couldn't find the secret rocket launcher.
nice map, speedrun 0m56s (skill1, game bastion)
Love it!
Ludicrous, there is no rocket launcher. It's a grenade launcher.
Thank You, Mopey bloke.
I'll give this map another try and maybe find it this time ....
Got it + secrets 4/4 now + fully satisfied.
As April Fools jokes go, this one is pretty great! I hope Jimmy actually does make some more Quake stuff.
This is a solidly entertaining base map. Some cool recrossing paths and peekaboo sightlines, a bit of swimming, and at least some use of multilevel monster placement to jazz up some of the fights.
As far as critiques go: I would have liked to get a non-shotgun weapon at some point, and the texturing is quite safe/oldschool. Although I did appreciate the nostalgic look really... it's a clean construction, and the visuals combined with the neat layout reminded me of some of the best early basemaps.
Very solid map. Glad that there are still Quake maps being made...
I recently got back into Quake because I discovered Arcane Dimensions then Ironwail. Then I saw this map by Jimmy - recognised from Doomworld - and had to check it out.
I usually prefer iron/medieval maps, but this base themed map is really good. I guess it's quite old-school, but that is fine by me. I was already old when Quake was released...
