There are some overlooked little gems in some of these speedmap packs -- it's amazing to me that so many of them have no comments and no ratings. I played RickyT23's Palace of Love (sm141_rt23) and found it a very pleasant challenge, on a par with most of the original ID levels.
Golden Boy's map, Palace Revolution (sm141_gb) is also a lot of fun, in a retro-Quake way. With more than 100 kills on hard, it's a bigger challenge than the original ID levels, and indeed I missed six kills and a secret.
Judged as a pack, I can't give more than three stars in the light of 2014's state of the art. But it's great to think that these guys just cranked out maps of this quality in a speedmap session.
