Even don't know, on the one hand these levels were developed by man with quit great imagination and originality, on the other hand it's hardly playable... Let's say... you'll like these maps if you like labyrinths and non-linear gameplay.
And there are present some places, where you can just get stuck...
quite a few interesting ideas and 'secret' areas. i got stuck on archways and in 'wind tunnels.'
The start map is well done and features some very interesting ideas for nightmare entrance.
For the the second one: the brushwork is simple and above average for the year, and with half cramped and half with enough room to move, layout is very interconnected, sprawling and completely non linear, combats range from straightforward to ambushes and well done traps, mostly around iD maps in difficulty, ammo and armour is a bit below iD maps and health a bit less than the other two, the three of them well placed across the map.
There is nothing unfair or obscure in the map or its progression, except maybe the exit location, and two times when the wind tunnels won't work well. The traps are well thought and none of them are insta-death ones. the new weapon is Ok, while there is a bug in the model that stops showing it and switch it back to the GL.
Quite good if the player likes to explore, and very good for the year (96) overall.
The wind tunnels that get you stuck and the elusive exit make for quite a frustrating experience. Even some corridors are so narrow that make them hard to move in, but I guess that's part of the course, since we're talking about a pyramid here. Overall, quite a bit of work was put into the map, with interesting designs and puzzles, which justify a 3/5 from me.
Didn't care for this map as i found the non linear layout and progression throughout the map t be too confusing. I also felt the brushwork and texturing of the map was too plain. This map only gets a two out of five rating from me and i recommend skipping this mod as their are better mods to play from the quake modding community.
Confusing, annoying, couldn't find exit.
