The Evolution

A series of 5 small short maps for vanilla Quake from a beginner mapper back in 2000. Variety of different settings and themes, from an ice cavern to a dark castle.

Skill levels aren't included, but it's all probably more on the Hard side of things. The author advises: "Do not run around blind corners, and only use rockets when only you need it. [...] Save often."

Hven't played it yet but looking at the tevo.txt (readme) file, I found something funny: "use rocket launcher 24/7, please save often." as suggested here in the description is not what the author actually says.

Oh oops, yeah I misread the warning as advice. Full quote: "If your good, this should be easy, but if your the type that likes to run around coners, and use rocket launcher 24/7, please save often"

Very bad. narrow halls, flashing lights, and a few maps seemed broken. Some care went into unfair traps so maybe it is supposed to be unpleasant.

As others have said, this is bad. But it's still interesting to see as a historical curiosity, and it's not unpleasant to play.
