Say it ain't so.... is the rune quake server getting dumped for a COD server? Surely they can both exists together. This is the only Quake server left in the quake world that gets any traffic

If its about money let Scoffer know he will pay the bill.

I hope this isn't true about shmack, and it's just a rumor.

Mmmm... just wanted to say that this is the only server I play on and is the only reason I play Quake, and have been for so many years.

What does it cost for a month? Haven't playing in a million years but I'll chip in. Maybe play some too. (would be laughable though)

I have no plans to retire Shmack anytime soon. If I did, I would announce it on the main page and on the forum, so ignore any rumors you might have heard. I would like to thank those who have offered to donate, I greatly appreciate it. The only support I require at this time is that you keep on enjoying the server.

Looks like this rumour has resurfaced. Whilst playing on the Shmack server a few moments ago a player shown as "Yip man" on 96.28.230.XXX with an extremely low ping (9-25ish) alledged that he was in fact Slot Zero, nothing new there I know, and that the contract for Shmack ends at April 30th 2011 as the server was going to be used for Call of Duty.

My gut reaction was that this may be someone such as Kimp chancing his arm, but just to be on the safe side in case there may be a slim chance of some truth in this has anyone else heard anything about losing the Shmack server?

I appreciate the financial constraints we all face these days but a lot of people do play at Shmack, I'd even suggest it was one of the most patronised NQ servers around, but it would be a pity to lose it.

So Slot, was that really you? and have things changed and is there any element of truth? I'm guessing the answer is no but I thought it was to check with the RQ master himself

I just chipped in, now how much for somebody to design some new runes

Interesting point, is there a guide somewhere on how to add runes or weapons to RQ? I know that Mr.Wifi produced RuneQuakeplus some time ago which has a whole host of fun new runes but if there was some tutorial or outline of the process I'm sure there's a few code monkeys that would like to try it out (me for one).
