Re: I miss you quake
Well, this is a really late reply... just checked in to see if anything was going on. Yeah, I remember you, Nitro. And yeah, I do download things, but most of it isn't porn. I have a bandwidth cap on it that makes it so it shouldn't interfere with FvF, but sometimes I get impaitent and raise it. My ...

Re: FvF server going down
I put the server back on a wired connection (was using Wireless G before). This will lead to a lower, more stable latency for everyone (including myself, heh)

Re: FvF server going down
Yeah sure, you can post my email address. downgraded286@yahoo.com So the fvf.servequake.com dns is pointing to the dns I have control over. Cool... I guess that means I don't need hub.quakeone.com anymore? My IP really only changes if I want it to. You can hard-code my current IP if you want to, it ...

Re: FvF server going down
Yes you can point one dns to another dns. I control my quake1.ath.cx dns on the dyndns website (yes, it should update itself if the IP changes if I put my username/password in the router). The hub.quakeone.com dns is pointed to my quake1.ath.cx dns. Why not just use the fvf.servequake.com dns for my...

Re: FvF server going down
Is there a way to point the fvf.servequake.com DNS to port 26001 of quake1.ath.cx? Don't have it pointed to my IP, my IP changes a lot and I can change the IP the quake1.ath.cx DNS points to.

Re: FvF server going down
I think it would be better to have fvf on the default port. Nobody uses the hub tbh (I look at the erver console every so often, it almost never has anything about players connecting), everyone just directly connects to wherever they're going. If someone wants to play on the hub, they'll connect to ...

Re: FvF server going down
But I'm really lazy and lack motivation, and I think most of the FvF players have died anyway. That doesn't mean you can't send me the progs. Wether the players have lost interest or not, that doesn't mean the mod itself should be homeless. There's plenty of people who'll play FvF if I ask them to ...

Re: The Hub is live again
The Hub is live again, and it's even better than before. 24/7 unintrrupted hosting on a dedicated machine running nothing but performance-tweaked XP Home and 3 Quake servers. It's on a P3 750MHz with 512MB recgonized RAM (I have 3x256, but for some reason it only detects part of each stick leaving m...

Re: The Hub is live again
Sole aliased the DNS hub.quakeone.com to my dns so if my IP ever changes again, all that needs to be done is for me to fix MY dns and bam, hub.quakeone.com is fixed too. I have another computer put togeather ready to be used as the dedicated Quake server and my router, but it doesn't work, and it's ...

Re: The Hub is live again
Barely... My router crashed... and I have to share internet with others in my house... ... ... ... I have to connect directly to my modem now, so my IP changed, which means the DNS hub.quakeone.com is broken. However, I registered a DNS at dyndns.com: quake1.ath.cx . Solecord should be able to alias...

Server Connectivity Issues
Server's been down an awful lot past few days here. Additionally, Chthon and Shub have been crashing the server.
