"Water Works" is another quality map by Douglas Magee author of "Strogg Particle Laser". 

"This is the Big Gun Coolant Plant map...The mission is to infiltrate the Strogg's Coolant plant facility and destroy the Dam which supplies power to the plant." ~Douglas L. Magee 

This is quite some coolant plant by a dam site! A cohesive level with a clear mission, fast engaging gameplay, solid believable scenery and some absolutely spectacular sights. 

While I am sure that the dam itself will garner a lot of attention (as well it should!) I was absolutely knocked out by the area depicted in the middle screenshot. Textures, lighting and construction were just suburb. Large rotating paddles (turbines?) and plenty of Strogg to keep you busy. This area also has a well worn, dirty, oily look to it. You climb out of that water needing a shower quick! 

Gameplay is straightforward with sensical tasks, and Doug keeps you posted along the way with frequent updates on your field computer (F1).  

The final endscene is worthy of any big budget special effect film, and is a fitting and memorable end to a well planned and executed theme. Play it soon on a computer near you!
