"The palace area you're now entering is known to contain the Strogg Cargo Portal. Through this portal some vital supplies could have been provided to the Strogg forces all over the universe....the Cargo Portal was never used. It still exists and it's even working, you must make sure that the Strogg will never use it... Turn the whole palace inside out, kill all the monsters, and escape the palace area alive through the cargo portal."~Juha Koiste

Juha is back! After presenting some very competent storage areas (Old Storage Area I and Old Storage Area II) Juha returns with a stylish palace setting that has rolled out the red carpet on fun and sumptuous architecture. "Remains" is adorned with fantastic arches that helps to break the mold on "been there, seen that".

While not overly large, "Remains" is a blast to play through. Juha has positioned the Strogg to take advantage of their strengths. Because the look is unique the brevity of the level is not readily apparent or even a concern. It a tasty morsel of fine gameplay and refreshing architecture.

While the level itself is grand your quest is a tad pedestrian, ye old cargo portal (from Old Storage Area II?) must be put out of commission but yet you have to escape through it. Uhm...Ok. Yes it is a minor niggle but a quest unbefitting of such a magnificent setting.

Health is in ample supply, perhaps too ample when played on medium. Yeah, I know, just crank up the difficulty level.

With "Remains" Juha has demonstrated that he can compete with the best. Download it and see if you don't agree.

Highly stylized arches creates a nice change from the usual Quake 2 look.
Whacky quest but you are not likely to notice it or care.
A fun level with fine gameplay and stylized arches.

"I think if you stare at it long enough it looks like they are lookin' right back at you."

Arches Deluxe. Yummy.
Gathering around the Stroggpole.
