Love Story Prince of Stroggos is a stylish, original level for Quake II. Yuri's eye for stylistic nuances is incredible. His eastern theme is a very welcome departure from the tried and true Quake II look we have come to expect. From eastern inspired minarets to graceful arches with appropriate adornments, Yuri  has created the equivalent of the Strogg version of the Arabian Nights. Architecturally for me this is Yuri's best work yet. The theme is carried off well throughout. The only thing lacking are the costumed Aladdin Strogg characters!

You will also notice some new very fine music and other ambient voice sounds. While not exactly middle eastern tunes, the beat is so infectious you will have to stop yourself from dancing in your seat.

Gameplay? Fun all the way. There are boats to operate, coins to collect to gain access to different areas (your money is no good here...its the Middle Strogg East remember?), a few pints of brew to be had, a few well timed jumps to be made, and oh yeah, a few battles to be fought.

Minor complaints include more than enough ammo and health, with this much lying around you are never in fear of running out. A little less would have added to the tension. And perhaps the biggest shortcoming is the brevity of the level. I was just getting warmed up when alas it was all at an end.

This is a fine level though that really shines in the looks and atmosphere department. A level that creates memories in cyber space. After having played it you will recall the locations as if you had actually been there. Don't miss it!
