Celebrating 12 years of Quake!

D&D 4th Edition Done Quake

If you've ever played Dungeons and Dragons, you may have wondered what a Quake-like campaign would look like. D&D already has a number of Lovecraft-inspired creatures, including the Mind Flayers (Illithids), and I personally would love to pit a two-weapon fighting ranger against a fiend or hell knight and play it out.

I've recently grown to love the 4th edition of D&D, and I've started writing down some possible monster descriptions for just such a campaign. I've also created a couple of Quake-like classes and some ranged weapons to fit the Quake style and blend it with D&D4's unique mechanics. When QExpo started, it seemed like a good time to share. :D

I highly recommend you familiarize yourself with 4th edition D&D's game mechanics, if only just a little. There are PDF files of the Player's Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Master's Guide floating around the web, and you can buy the books online (amazon has them on sale at the time of this writing) or in a number of book stores.

So, without further ado, here is my current planning document. I will be updating it throughout the expo and afterwards, and I'm open to suggestions.

ZIP containing HTML and Word Doc formats (updated occasionally, but not after Expo finishes)

Google Doc (always up to date)

Please e-mail me if you want to share suggestions, or even better talk about it on the Inside 3D Forums (the General Discussion forum is best). If you want to be added as a contributor to the Google doc, and I know and/or trust you, then I imagine I can arrange that (though you'll need a google e-mail address).

Feel free to use this document as you please, as long as I get credit for it. I'm making and sharing it because I want people to be able to enjoy it. Have fun!
