» Two brand new units released: COE: "Coven of Ebony" and PG2: "Phantasmal Garrison" are reviewed on the Reviews by Date page.

Week of Monday 21st February - Sunday 5th March 2000: News Summary:

» Reviewed one brand new level: Base-x2 is ready and waiting on the Reviews by Date page.
» Posted some new levels news from Face the Slayer at Eternal Terror, and also mentioned the Quake: Blair Witch Project conversion.
» Recommended mappers who are considering using modifications to pay attention to Theory 5: Other aspects of Q1 SP map quality - Section 5. Modifications/Extras. and ensure their mods are professional quality and fit perfectly into the map.
» Updated TEAMShambler FPS Demos and Discussion regularly with such fun as: silly IRC chats from the custom mapping world, Shambler's picks of current Q1 DM maps, drum'n'bass and trance CD mini-reviews, links to an interesting discussion about the open-mindedness of the mapping scene, and plentiful quotes and nonsense.

» No new levels released nor reviewed this fortnight.
» Various bits of new level news, incuding a forthcoming RDE map, and some changes to maps on the new levels news.
» Updated TEAMShambler FPS Demos and Discussion with plenty of news and views, including the Shambler perspective on Half-Life enemy and AI, 10 reasons why Wheel of Time r0cks and you, yes, you, should buy it, some top notch random abuse and nonsense, and even a few drum'n'bass mini-reviews.

Week of Monday 27th December 1999 - Sunday 9th January 2000: News Summary:

» No Q1 SP related news, hence no updates.
» But lots of updates at TEAMShambler FPS Demos and Discussion, including: Hugely popular Q3A trick demos (which got the site suspended for 2 days in a row due to too many downloads - lol!!), more IRC nonsense, details of Unreal reviews, and many regular news updates including millenium cheer and views on UT.
» Updated spektrum with a funny ICQ chat log of me dishing out a smak talk p1mping to my PlanetDaikatana boss, Gwog.

Also, some recommended levels for other games, and lots of news and views.

Week of Monday 13th - Sunday 19th December 1999: News Summary:

»Reviewed one brand new level: Czg02: "Memento Mori" is found on the Reviews by Date page.
»No other Q1 SP news aside from that.
»Posted lots of stuff over at TEAMShambler FPS Demos and Discussion, including an *exclusive* review of the Quake 2 mission pack: "Oblivion", a brand new Unreal speedrun demo, and a list of what maps would be possible as part of "Unreal Done Quick", some filthy, depraved but potentially amusing IRC chat logs, and the usual amount of regular news and views.

Week of Monday 6th - Sunday 12th December 1999: News Summary:

»Reviewed a good new level - Dawn of the Dead can be found on the Reviews by Date page, go to it.
»Posted some new levels news: Details of future maps by Pingu and Jexjackl, and some good screenshots from Morpheus on the Visuals page.
» Added a new help section to the Misc. page: "How to get past downloads that don't work".
»Posted the results and winners of the ludicruously under-supported anniversary competition.
» Updated TEAMShambler FPS Demos and Discussion with some general news and ranting and raving about various FPS related things.

Week of Monday 29th - Sunday 5th December 1999: News Summary:

» No new levels reviewed nor released.
» There was some new levels news, including some screenshost from Apollo, posted on the Visuals page.
» Posted some cool stuff over at TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion, especially a couple of phenomenonly good Quake 2 speedrun demos using tricks such as double hand-grenade jumps, and Gladiator railgun boosts (a must-see for Q2 players!!), as well as some map recommendations for various games, and an probably entertaining rant about Quake3Arena being falsely advertised as having "single player".

Week of Monday 22nd - Sunday 28th November 1999: News Summary:

» Finally, a new level was released: FMB6 is reviewed on the Reviews by Date page.
» Also did a speedrun demo of FMB6 in 1:25, which is posted on the Demos page.
» TEAMShambler celebrated it's first birthday, with a "identify the secrets" competition, go take a look and see how well you do.
» Posted some entertaining stuff at TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion, the best being some exclusive Quake 2: The Reckoning speedrun demos (unique to the site like all the other Quake 2 and Unreal speedruns there), also some more custom map Unreal LAN demos, with a couple of awesome action screenshots (these are worth a look even if you don't have Unreal, so go check them out), some recommended Quake 2 maps, and a fair bit of news and views, including my thoughts on level ratings.

Week of Monday 15th - Sunday 21st November 1999: News Summary:

» No new levels released nor reviewed.
» Posted another very cool speedrun demo of Czg04: "Numb Nimbus" in 0:52 (really worth downloading and watching).
» The Nehahra Project site was updated with some cool new screenshots.
» Updated TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion with some stuff including two new custom map Unreal LAN deathmatch demos (and some great screenshots), some Q1 DM custom map recommendations and trick moves, an IRC chat log or two, and various news and views.
» Updated speKtrum with more news about people who plan to map for Daikatana.

Week of Monday 8th - Sunday 14th November 1999: News Summary:

» No new levels released nor reviewed this week.
» Posted some new levels news, mostly about The Nehahra Project, and also posted an IRC chat log about the state of the Q1 SP scene.
» Posted the usual stuff over at TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion, including some cool new trick move demos on Quake 1 custom deathmatch maps, a brand new Unreal speedrun demo, 3 Unreal LAN deathmatch demos featuring SCRAD and I on a custom map (these will be taken down tomorrow and demos for a different map posted, so if you want to check them out you will have to be very quick), details of my Unreal reviews for the week, some predictions on which forthcoming Q1 DM maps will be cool, and a revised article on Half-Life's Xen dimension, which was posted as PlanetHalfLife's Featured Article for this week!!

» Posted a couple of improved speedruns: An especially cool demo of Dxm: in 0:26 (a must see, please watch it), and a demo of LS in 0:46.
» Added some new levels news from Mike Woodham and Morpheus, and posted their screenshots on the Visuals page.
» Updated TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion with vast amounts of stuff, including: A new Quake 1 DM demo on Jrdm2, two new Unreal speedrun demos, a couple of new Quake 1 and Quake 2 trick move demos, an amusing IRC chat log, details of my Unreal reviews for the week, updates to my favourite Q1 DM maps list, and lots of updates following on from SCRAD's visit, including a rant on PC gaming magazines and my views on Unreal deathmatch. » Updated TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion with the usual quantities of general *stuff*, including an article in praise of Half-Life's "Xen" dimension, a new Unreal speedrun, details of my Unreal reviews for the week and recommended maps not yet reviewed, and more news and views.

Week of Monday 4th - Sunday 10th October 1999: News Summary:

» Reviewed one new level: Mospq1 - "Castle of Morpheus" is found on the Reviews by Date page.
» Edge and Styx are making new Q1 SP maps, their details are on the new levels news, and Edge has a couple of screenshots on the Visuals page.
» Did an "arse-load" of stuff over at TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion, including a site redesign and cleaner look, a Trick Moves section (in which I posted 15 new trick move demos for Quake1 and Quake 2), exclusive details of a great new Unreal episode, and details of my Unreal reviews for the week, as well as an IRC chat log (about DM review sites) and a couple of rather big updates.

» The Nehahra Project has moved to PlanetQuake, and both Vondur and Excessus have joined it's mapping team.
» Some useful stuff over at TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion, including an analysis of botmatch and single player, thoughts on how worthwhile the site is (conclusion: damn worthwhile!!), bit of news on Q1 DM maps and other news too.

Week of Monday 20th - Sunday 26th September 1999: News Summary:

» No new levels reviewed this week.
» Plenty of new level news though: MCM, Morpheus and CZG all announced forthcoming Q1 SP levels, so their info goes on the new levels news, and the latter two authors both have screenshots posted on the Visuals page.
» Added a bit more stuff to TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion, including 4 new Unreal speedrun demos, a couple of IRC chat logs, details of my Unreal reviews for the week, and a bit of news.

» No new levels released this week.
» Some good news on the New Levels front though: The ambitious Nehahra Project has been announced, Excessus is working on a new Q1 SP level, and Tiddles has sent in a screenshot of his next level.
» Made a banner which I've sent to GSN, and added my speKtrum link to this page.
» Only did one update TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion, but it featured my views on Requiem (which I'm playing now), details of my Unreal reviews for the week, and some amusing IRC chat logs.

» Added Mineral and Tim Elek to the new levels news as they both are working on new levels - see table for site links.
» Updated TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion with various ramblings including the obligatory cheese news, and a mention of the new deathmatch map review I did for MPQ. Also, I updated my Daikatana site, speKtrum with some thoughts on comparing the Daikatana demo and the Q3Atest, as well as adding a new (but empty) "Demos" section.

» Arranged a Level of the Week with PlanetQuake, which convinced me to keep the site open.
» Updated TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion with literally dozens of very entertaining Quake 2 custom map speedrun demos, loads of serious and silly IRC Chat Logs, news on Q2 maps and various other ramblings.

Week of Monday 9th - Sunday 15th August 1999: News Summary:

» Reviewed a plethora of good new levels on the Reviews by Date page: Runner's Delight Episode, Moonlight Assault and Castle Golgotha.
» To go with the Castle Golgotha review, I did an good Easy speedrun demo of the first map in 0:30 - please try it.
» Added Scrag Bait to the new levels news, and a couple of screenshots of his forthcoming level to the Visuals page.
» Appealed for information from mappers who have been on the new levels news for a long time, with no sign of a release - please email me.
» Posted the usual funk over at TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion: 6 excellent Return to Na Pali (the Unreal mission pack) speedrun demos, updated favourite maps' lists, various rantings and ravings.

Week of Monday 2nd - Sunday 8th August 1999: News Summary:

» Reviewed the new 3 map unit Sop123: "Source of Power", on the Reviews by Date page.
» Posted preview screenshots of levels by Kick Ass Entertainment and PernSpike on the Visuals page, and their info in the new levels news.
» Managed to update speKtrum with some hopeful news.
» Updated TEAMShambler Demos and Discussion with various stuff: recommended Unreal single player maps list, original Quake 2 speedrun demos on Id maps, Unreal review details, and plenty of news as usual.
