Windows Quick Start:

Download that, move it to your quake dir, run. Done.

Source is available via sourceforge.
Linux users should hopefully be able to use the pre-built builds here.

Not all targets are still supported (often because of debian changes or toolchains that no longer work on debian), so compare file times to version.txt's timestamp.
