Going back in time to the early days of TFC and the user made maps that it spawned it's hard to find anything that is worth remembering. But, CablesTFC is a very rare map. It's ugly, it's vanilla capture the flag and it's oodles of fun.
You ought to know the setup of these maps by now. Two bases, separated by a large cliff with the ubiquitous water. Each base contains one team and one flag. We all know the rest.
Getting from one base to another can be tedious on foot. You must swim the lakes, climb ladders and generally have a rough time of it. Or, you can ride the cable car. Two cars operate between each base and the middle area to facilitate movement between bases and make the trip much more interesting. Alternatively, you can attempt to swim the pipe between the lakes, but this requires some help from a teammate. The pipe is blocked by a hefty grate that must be opened by a rotating switch above. There's not enough time to operate the switch and get through, so ask a teammate to help you out.
Don't come to Cables looking for anything other than a fun time and you won't be disappointed.
