When the term "spam" was introduced to the TFC player's vernacular, it was due almost entirely to this map. For the first time we got to see a real drain on framerate due to the sheer number of explosions. No Man's Land broke the mold of very generic maps at the time and gave us, if not a totally different look, at least a recognizable place to kill each other.

The layout is typical for capture the flag maps. Each base has a ramp room, a fast access elevator to the basement and sniper decks. A simple and clean layout throughout each base offers a stark contrast to the middle ground between. The spacious flag room holds a truck within it where you'll find the flag. Access to the flag is limited to a single ladder which makes defense a relatively simple matter.

No Man's Land's bases are separated by a war torn field. A broken down tank lies pitched over in a water-filled crater. Barbed wire separates the trenches containing each team. The sound of mortar fire and distant machineguns build the atmosphere of the map quite nicely.

No Man's Land is a small map which probably should never see more than 16 players at a time but it's small size is a part of it's charm. Action is plentiful here and every player class can find a home.
