The PlanetFortress Survival Guide
The Warthog's CFG Version 1.0 - 03-28-01
The Warthog CFG sets your Half-Life client up for Team Fortress Classic. This config is a compliation of many different script and aliases by various people. I take no credit for creating this in entirity. The bulk of this config and this help file are courtosey of Cableless[GT]. Please read this document for important installation info and notes. This config is designed for a standard keyboard and a 3 button mousewheel mouse. Rock!INSTALLATION
TWEAK LINKS
- Before installing, I suggest that you open the configs in Notepad/Wordpad and look over the binds and aliases. If you use different key bindings than I do, then go ahead and make the necessary changes in Autoexec.cfg BEFORE you exec it. THIS CONFIG WILL CHANGE ALL YOUR PREVIOUS KEY BINDINGS.
- Place this config in C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\tfc.
- Change the shortcut for Half-Life in your Start Menu to read "C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -console -zone 1024".
- If you are using GameSpy change the Half-Life command line under GameSpy>Games & Filters to read "hl.exe -console -zone 1024"
- Launch Half-Life.
- Click the custom games button and activate TFC.
- Join a TFC server.
- Press ~ to bring up the console.
- Type "exec autoexec.cfg" at the console. You will only have to exec the config the first time that you install/upgrade/change configs.
- Press ~ to close the console.
- Choose a team and class.
- Hit "L" to chose between MIN, MED, MAX display quality settings.
- Hit "," to bring up netgraph.
- Hit "." repeatedly to adjust rate/pushlatency until the number of red lines diminishes.
- Hit "PGDN" to select the appropriate communications config. This will remap all function keys to map specific comm binds. At the moment there are only OFFENSE and DEFENSE configs for 2fort.
