AI Textures
A small weird experimental map for vanilla Quake, using custom made AI-generated textures with Stable Diffusion. Map source file is included. "No real monsters.""I think that more people should make new and unique stuff, rather than creating maps that are like Quake maps. I also think that people should release stuff with less effort. I have created a ton of levels for Mega Man Maker, and that game has a lot more variety. Certainly a lot of great stuff, but also a lot of experimental stuff and bad stuff, made very quickly."
Note: requires a modern engine / source port with increased limits.

This map is very strange. Nathnolt has a talent for map hacks and thinking outside of the box. 4/5 for ingenuity!
Although I admire attempts to make "new and unique stuff," I don't think "less effort" coupled with random and garish textures are the solution.
A confusing mess of eye-searing textures, frustrating "gameplay" "mechanics", and annoying traps. Like Cruelty Squad if it sucked.
The entry screen needs to have a plain background, so that one can reasonably see and select the Quake options (video mode, etc.) The textures were ... kinda interesting, but many of them suffered from being the worst possible foreground/background patterns/colors -- they comprised a "field/ground test" designed to fail as many people as possible. And, failing that test made it impossible to effectively search for and recognize clues. It was interesting enough to fly through in noclip mode, but not enough to actually try to play. I'll look at the other maps in this set ... later.
Well, I finished it on Skill 2. Took 7 mins, mostly in the "platforming" section. No desire to play it again. 2/5 for an original idea, but it feels like an abandoned jam map.
There's really nothing to recommend this. It looks awful and plays dreadfully. I do agree with the author's comment "I think that more people should make new and unique stuff, rather than creating maps that are like Quake maps", but uniqueness doesn't obviate the need for basic craftsmanship.
