This IS a small map indeed. Done in less than 2 minutes. It's ok, nothing special.
Short, but relatively sweet. Perhaps I have a soft-spot for the base enemies, but I did enjoy the gameplay this level provided. Mostly. Giving the player the run-around after they get the golden key was kind of annoying, although it was a relatively brief annoyance considering the map's length. It would have been nice to see more content in that area rather than a single enforcer.
Competent, but very tiny.
A small map that is well put together and good for a quick run through, nothing ground breaking but it doesn't aim to be.
I enjoyed it. If I had to critize something it might be adjusting the differnet difficulty levels and balacing the secrets. Other than that it's ok, and that seems to be what it was aming for.
I did enjoy the empty secret that awarded you for just finding it, I can't remember if I saw that anywhere else.
I liked this map, felt like a first map of original quake chapters. The base maps.
I don't know if I skipped something, but there were a secret with nothing in it, right?
Liked the little design touches, like the walls become rusted when you get to the water section.
After you get the gold key, if you fall to the left, you get soft blocked, had to noclip.
This is a nice little Base map for its age; however, there are many spots where the enemies were "glued" to the floor (the mapper placed them a tad too low, partially in the geometry), so they effectively became easily killed turrets. Also, the mapper missed the opportunity to repopulate the area that the player was forced to run through again. It's too bad ...if these issues were fixed -- and a lot more enemies were crammed in -- this would be pretty cool old-school map!
Clearly a beginner's / learner's effort on the author's part. Short, easy and a bit crude, even considering its time. Still, this holds a charm of its own on my part since it was the first custom map I've ever played, back in 2004.
