Impressive machinery and "story".
What a cool level. You infiltrate an enemy base, stuff like bunks and armory are very clearly designated. There's a tank that drives outside, there's a missile launch sequence that you need to abort. Lots of interesting stuff!
Very creative and amusing level for 1997, what the base levels that shipped with the game should have been more like.
great to see some mechanics implemented in the map. Had a cool story to it too.
effort was put into this and it shows!! awesome! ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
Rough construction (but not bad for mid-97) and quite easy, BUT the author was clearly having fun with some neat ideas -- making recognizable things out of brushes, putting together setpieces with timers and triggers, printing messages describing events...
It's a pleasant little blast-from-the-past thing to roll through. Makes me want to check out his other releases!
This map is just awesome! It transcends a traditional Quake map into its own thing with its own style and a narrative.
Memorable scenes include a fight with an armored personnel carrier and, as mentioned by previous commenters, a frantic time-limited scene, where you have to abort a missile launch. The map is just so enjoyable to explore that I don't even care if the combat itself isn't that special. I just wanted see the next scene the author had designed for me to enjoy.
And as I had stated in my review of the previous map by the same author, it's really impressive that he had done it all with a text editor!
