Sky Palace 01
Small floating palace with a unique texture theme. The player must reach the exit in only 1:30 and has to fulfill certain tasks to proceed. OK.Tags: oldskool, silly, small

A good idea for a series of maps.
As just the one it is perhaps too short for the average player. But Quake/CZG enthusiasts should definitely not miss it. Despite the uglyish textures there are some really nice bits too - the beginning and ending basey sections, for example, and the big, rounded areas which are to be found after this screenshot.
On one hand, I love the level itself. It has good combat and great visuals. On the other hand, I hate the mechanic of having to beat the level in one and a half minutes. It's irritating and unnecessary. In fact, on my second playthrough, I noclipped past the area that triggers the limit and had a lot more fun with the level, although ammo is a bit tight. So, if you don't mind the time limit, certainly play it, but if you do, I still think you should play it, but play it like I did and noclip past the first door of the level. It has a great unique texture theme and atmosphere to it and some pretty nice combat here and there.
Unique gimmick to hurry, but I am not sure if Quake really is suited for that. I like to explore in Quake and this one discourages that due to the impending time limit over your head.
Always important to experiment however!
