The "lost" levels
Classic singleplayer campaign made by Gotshun that was never finished or released: Two episodes with 16 levels of various themes including a start map and a secret map. The second episode lacks a conclusion/boss fight due to the unfinished nature of the pack, but it is perfectly playable.Note: These levels require Scourge of Armagon.

I see that the zip has the name of the original release. There's a repack that addresses several issues, available here: http://www.quaketastic.com/files/singleplayer/gotshunv11.zip Spirit, can you please update your original post with this new zip instead of the old one?
Damn Markdown! Correct address: http://www.quaketastic.com/files/single_player/gotshun_v11.zip
Two episodes for MP1? Very intersting, I'll give it a try for sure
Nice to see more custom levels for SoA.
It's a repack fully endorsed by Gotshun (see the Func_Msgboard thread) that fixes several issues like non-existing track01 erroneously assigned to several maps and episode 2's secret level not accessible from within the episode, among other things, so it's a bit more than "another person's own approach".
Hey Cocerello. bfg is right about this.I didn't finish the episodes to lack of time or whatever. It was a long time ago and these maps have been sitting in my old 1998 computer for at least 10 years.
Damaged Inc. was the guy to pull them out and post for you guys to play.It was by coordinated efforts of Knightfright and others that made the needed corrections for this pack to work properly. I did state in the func_board that anyone had my permission to fix any bugs or inconsistent issues. So, yes, I did endorse this.
Theer are several downloads of this pack to choose from, the original or the fixed and updated zip....Personally I would choose the fixed and updated zip.
Played it... And well... Shamblers addicted levels ? :)
Great anyway. Liked the gold key teleporter trap :)
Calm down, Bfg666, and re-read my comment, you made a missunderstanding: i never said Gotshun didn't endorsed them, just that they are not just bug fixes but a lot more, hence it would need another entry.
I don't need to calm down, I already am... ;)
Multiple entries are confusing at best and can lead, for example, to people playing the "wrong" version because they missed the fixed one. At the very least, this entry should mention that there is a fixed version and have a link to it.
This is simply fantastic! It deserve 5 stars
Loved every one...an absolute treat
Just played the new 1.5 maps, holy moly 6/5!!
The 2 new episodes are the size of the complete Scourge of Armagon mission pack! And even have the same quality. Amazing work! Thank you so much for this.
Well, this is superb. Stupidly, I guessed that as older levels these would be less difficult, so selected Nightmare -- and it really was nightmarish. (But in a good way.) The build quality is way better than we should expect from levels at least ten years old (by gotshun's account) and there is _ a lot_ of content here. Outstanding stuff, and I am delighted it did finally get a release.
(BTW., if you just reversed the order of the episodes, then the game would end with a boss-fight.)

So sorry about the duplicate comments. If an admin sees this, please delete two of the three!
A lot of quotes of levels of Q1, Armagon, Dissolution, interesting, but... shamblers, shamblers, shamblers everywhere. Ok, there is a lot of amunition. But one moment was very despicable. In e2ue I got silver key and door closed, and one more shambler teleported outside cages. But there was no way to run out or column to dodge of this shambler! In this place I lost ~ 120 hp in every case. It is not "hardcore". It is dastardly reception.
Fucking amazing and super underrated. Tight as nails gameplay and level design.
Started playing this and everything was fine until e2ud right after the lava bridge that comes down from the ceiling. I got stuck because apparently quakespasm 0.92.1 cannot handle both gotshun and hipnotic (using quakespasm -game gotshun -hipnotic as instructed), so the Mjolnir I need to pick up to open a door is missing. Version 0.93.1 is fine though. Or did I miss something?
Found a fix (at least using Debian): you need to repeat yourself, like this: "quake -game gotshun -hipnotic -game gotshun".
More on topic: I'm finishing the first episode on Nightmare and enjoying this thoroughly!
Thanks Gotshun for this great pack! I didn't find the secret level, so I've got an excuse for replaying this pack eventually.
I agree with Vasya shkolnik on the Shambler issues. The end of the last level will be tough, so try and avoid using nails and bolts because you will need them badly at some point.
I completed the pack on Nightmare, but I'm puzzled by a possibly missing secret in the start map. I noclipped out of curiosity but didn't notice anything, did Gotshun forget to count the entrance to Nightmare mode? (I used gotshun_v11.zip from the linked page).
This has the "bones" of a great custom episode, but as stated it is unfinished which results in a lot of annoying niggles that made it unenjoyable for me. For example, buttons don't change texture when pressed, there are various instances of broken game logic (either sequential events that don't always trigger fully, or a secret in which the power-up's useful time is halved by a circuitous exit route) and some visual inconsistencies such as button textures being used for decoration in the same level in which they're used as ... buttons. Also at one point a platform raised me up quicker than the door above it was able to fully open, and I hurt my head. These are not issues you expect to encounter in a map with a five star rating.
A great mappack. It's like a marriage of the original game's tight architecture with SoA's gameplay and aesthetics.
Far too difficult. Far too many traps. Far too unfinished. Goes down as 4/10 for me sorry.
