The Star Trek references in this map are nice (and maybe there are some other pop-culture references I missed?), but overall it is sadly far too bright, bland and slow-paced.
Really amazingly, amazingly slow. I've never known a level remotely like it for looong, slooow elevator rides. Quake levels can fail in all sorts of ways, but this is a very rare example of one that's just plain boring. Sheesh.
For some reason I can't explain, I replayed this. I think it may be the only Quake level that I actively hate. I literally spent more time waiting for elevators than I did fighting monsters.
