Stalwart Stone on The Quake Grave
I played through this map with 3 of QMaster's other maps in the video above.
Stalwart Stone is fun little map that has the feeling of a map from the original era. It's a bit light on ammo, so I had to try and conserve as much as I could and ran out near the end, but was able to finish no problem. I like the flow of the level too, it's a little maze like but there is plenty of space to move around and make your way. Nice work!
I enjoyed this: while the textures and architecture are obviously from E2M4, the layout is pretty unique and not just a rehash. The non-linearity made the map feel somewhat larger than it is. I agree with Arrcee about the ammo being light, but I always try to conserve it as much as possible, so it wasn't a practical issue. Overall, this is a nice old-school map that feels like it could have been part of the original game.
OK, but not as much fun as Ire and Abbeys. Very anticlimactic ending.
