Windy Temple on The Quake Grave

I was immediately drawn to Windy Temple due to the screenshot. It really reminded me of a 96-97 era map which is what I like covering on my youtube channel. I can report that this map easily scratches that nostalgia itch.

The beginning of the map is insanity! You're assaulted by a ton of enemies with nothing but your shotgun. You then teleport right to a Shambler! And in true 96 mapping fashion, the map is already half over by that point! The map is competent in that it's easy to navigate and you can find the exit no problem but that whole beginning part is just an odd design decision. I managed to get through by avoiding most of the enemies and running right for the teleporter, but I don't know that there is a real way to defeat all those enemies and still have ammo for the rest of the enemies in the map. Maybe this map is telling you to let go of trying to one-hundred-percent every map or maybe Lukasxd was a little overzealous with his enemy placement. Whatever the case, it's weird.

The rest of the map is fun, but beware if you fall of the edge! =)

Weak, even by old-level standards. Difficult in mean, arbitrary ways rather than in challenging ways, and ugly to book. The same author's Full of Boxes (f_box) is much more fun.

Decent for a first map.

Whats best in this map is the theme, more than average brushwork for a first map, and ideas. The combat in the first room is hard due to a bit less room to maeuver for that quantity of enemies, but after that the difficulty lowers a lot, as the enemy AI and terrain can be abused against the enemies, there is health packs, and some of them can be even sniped with no retaliation.

Flawed but fun. Unlike ArrrCee, I found 100% kills to be doable.
