Average map but I enjoyed it overall.
3/5 stars
Played on skill 2. Some souls missed for reaping, probably in secrets. 0 secrets have been found.
Interesting one.
Above average for the year brushwork, branching linear with some interesting ideas layout, decent lighting, hectic combats, difficulty a bit above Id maps and more ammo than Id maps.
The map revolves around a chthon, which changes the gameplay, forcing the player to play aggresively after getting past it to not go back and fear him. The chthon can be though if not accustommed to him, but after doing so it becomes a good piece in the map. The combats are well done and the enemies are well placed, even if a bit too hard maybe.
Average map but I enjoyed it overall.
3/5 stars
The secrets in this one were more obvious, but still kind of unfair. The super nailgun was kind of impossible to find. The megahealth at the start was for veteran quake players since it needed the boost jump from a ramp. And the red armor that you could see from the super shotgun was a grenade boost, if this was the only way, not worth the effort.
Cool map overall.
I could tell quite a bit of effort and thought had been put into this map, which looks pretty good for the time, but it felt like most of the thought and care had been put into thinking how to best trick the player. Overall, it was a rather frustrating experience and not fun.
