link to the patch is broken.
Thanks, Breezeep. It should work now.
There seems to be nowhere better than this to mention Kell's base-map, kellbase1, which is included in Quoth 2 as a demo of the new base elements -- monsters, breakables, etc. Although it was intended as a demo, it's actually a pretty good map -- well worth playing if you already have Quoth 2 anyway.
I also rather enjoyed ne_basetest, which again was intended as a demo map but is rather fun to play.
Out of curiosity, is there a specific reason to keep both v2.1 (with or without the patch) and v2.2 available for download?
I hit a bug recently where kellbase1.bsp was not completable, details here.
It turned out to have been fixed in a 2015 update to quoth2pt2patch.zip.
Players: check the date on your pak2.pak, if it's 2014 you'll want to download the patch again from http://tomeofpreach.wordpress.com/quoth/
Admins: would it be possible to update Quaddicted's copy of quoth2pt2full.zip and quoth2pt2patch.zip to the latest versions from Preach's site?
I'm playing this with QuakeSpasm and movement doesn't seem as smooth as with vanilla Quake, although I can't pinpoint exactly how. With DarkPlaces it's much much worse. Smooth movement is one of the best things about Quake, and so far Quoth is ruining it for me a little.
"I can't pinpoint exactly how."
That's because Quoth doesn't change movement at all...
Okay, I was stupid. For some reason multiple instances of QuakeSpasm got opened at once. That's what was slowing it down. It works fine now.
Thanks to the authors of this pack for giving so much material and innovation opportunities to mappers!
