Okay, commentary so far:
I love Artistical's map... amazingly moody for a map built with limited brushwork.
Elithium's map is good, but really short.
Fairweather's map is one of those where I can't save the game in Quakespasm. I had to play through it in one life, which was pretty tough, but it can be done. Short and brutal.
Both of Greenwood's maps were very enjoyable, and adequately tough.
MortalMaxx, I'm sorry, but I didn't enjoy yours. There are invisible walls in two areas (at least, under Quakespasm) that cannot be passed without cheating, for no apparent reason, and what I take to be the proper progression for the level is blocked. I could not get to the space where the Vore is located, nor could I pass through the next gap in that wall either.
THESE MAPS REQUIRE THE MOD COPPER!
I am seeing a lot of people stating that MortalMaxx's map has invisible walls and is not enjoyable ...well, that's because all of these maps were intended to be played with the mod Copper. This is stated it in the Read Me & the poster. Please play them as intended.
You can get Copper here: http://lunaran.com/copper/download.html
Again, THESE MAPS REQUIRE THE MOD COPPER!
P.S. Please download the "fixed version" listed in "Additional Links." It has the corrected Read Me file for Elithium.
@Solomoriah,
I am pleased to read that you found my maps enjoyable ...even played with vanilla settings!
If you get a chance, try MortalMaxx's map with Copper. It's way more enjoyable! Fairweather's map is less brutal too. If I organize a speedmapping session requiring a mod again, I will definitely include an additional empty text file labeled "PLAY WITH THE MOD COPPER," because most folks assume regular id progs are used, like typical speedmap contributions.
Sorry about that, it should be fixed for Quake Injector users now.
I've found a bug in Copper: when you zoom in (with F11) and shoot with the nailgun, the projectiles don't go exactly where you are aiming at. If they go e.g. too much to the left and you then aim a little more to the right, they either go to the same place as before or too much to the right, so that you can never hit your objective from your current position. I checked vanilla Quake and this doesn't happen there.
Where is the exit in Artistical's map?
