Not bad, shame quoth wasn't around when this was released.
agreed.
Played on skill 3. 80/100 3/5
Very interesting one. If we don't count brushwork, it would a solid 4 for a 2014's map, but this map is from 1997, hence it is a good one.
It relies on exploration and finding ''secrets'' in some parts for progression, and probably needs to find some of the numbered secrets or relying on monster infighting if the player wants to kill all the enemies, at least on skill 2. If the numbered secrets are found, the player has more than enough ammo to kill them all, but not as much as id maps. Secrets stands out, and provide not just more items, but more gameplay and new areas to explore. They are overloaded with items, well chosen, but maybe too much in quantity.
Overall, for a 1997 map, it has decent to good brushwork and texturing, branching with backtrack linear layout, chaotic on all axis combats with many but not ''hordish'' numbers, not unfair combats and ambushes, mainly good use of the enemies good points, difficulty a bit higher than ID maps, a bit low on health, and a decent amount of armor placed.
Definitely recommended.
5- for a 1997 map.
