The Throwing Axe mod starts with you just as your regular ax and shotgun do. You can access it by pressing your 1 button once. To access your regular ax you will need to press button 1 twice.

This mod gives you one ax that you can lob at your enemies. Once thrown, you must retrieve it before it vanishes, although you should have plenty of time. The ax does considerable damage to targets, Ogres usually fall with around 4 shots. You can receive more ax’s to throw by the impulse 9 cheat code.

In deathmatch the throwing ax can be picked up by other players and is left in the back packs of fallen enemies.

Overall, this mod has some nice features including being able to cycle through with the rest of your weapons. Best of all is that it requires no ammo to use since you start off with one. In the end this mod is only fun for a short while.
