The Secret Installation was inspired by the screenshots and the demo for Quake 2. It is a military base that does not hold any of the standards of the Quake 1 base style. On the normal setting, it features a slight challenge so I suggest veteran Quake players to step it up a notch to nightmare and let the real gibfest begin.

The architecture is simply outstanding. From the overhead terraces to the battle damaged room. You just can not ask for it to be done any better. There is so much detail given to these areas that it makes it hard to pay attention to the grunts, enforcers, and dogs that mostly occupy this level.

The map also flows with ease. You never get that lost or confused feeling. This is due to the great design of the map. You basically move in a complete circle from where you start to the finish. Only after playing through it do you see the simplicity in the design that most mappers could only copy.
